Compact and versatile, this fan is designed for personal space
Color:Black Holmes 6” Convertible Clip/Table Fan (Black)
Purchased this fan because of the clip. I use at my deskat work. Clip is sturdy, air flow is good, two speed options.I would definitely recommend.
I purchased this to use with our dish DVD player, which has been running hot all summer, but it didn’t work out correctly for that.. there was no way to clip it on the side of the TV stand so that it would blow cool air on the DVD.. I purchased another fan for that and ended up using this one over the bed… It works great for hot flashes during the night.. I clipped it on a shelf above the bed upside down so it’s close to my head.. The fan can be moved slightly up and down, and can also be moved to the sides… It works good for me because I can point it away from me and have air circulating, and if I have a hot flash, I can easily click it to another position so it blows right on me..I end up moving it up down, side to side all night long.. It works better than any other fan I’ve tried..The only complaint I have is that when I bought mine, Amazon only offered black or white.. I see they now offer it in red and blue as well.. I would have purchased the red one if I’d had the choice ;o)
I use this fan to cool just me, not a small room or anything else. Just me. It works well, has 2 speeds and I never have to go further than the first speed. I can use the stand and place it on a bookcase near my chair when I watch TV. It also has a clip that is pretty sturdy and I like the fact that the clip is build into the fan chassis itself. It clips onto the base, so I don’t have to go looking for the base when I want to use it. My only complaint is that the base is made from Very light weight plastic, so the fan itself is top heavy. As a result, I have to hold onto the fan blades’ cage to turn the fan on and off, so it won’t tip over. I have several other Holmes products (fans and heaters) and they all have worked well. The fan costs very little, so I don’t consider having to hold on to the fan any big deal. If you buy it knowing these things, I think you will like it.
I purchased this fan cause I wanted a different color than the normal white. It’s very attractive n has a knob to turn blades on n off instead of a slide switch that gives positions. Basically that’s not too different, but I’ve found it to be less likely to break. The one feature I’ve found on these new fans that my old one had is a hole at the end of the clip that I need to hang the fan from, thus saving me the problem of hanging it without the problem of drilling. Because of this, I’ve had to save the base or stem part of our old fan to use n attach so it hangs on the wall with the nail I’ve had there for years n stays put. Why this feature has been eliminated from all the fans is I guess cost? But it is important at least to us. Very quiet fan n gives two settings so that’s great. Tilts at different angles n the other pieces that comes in the box allows for fan to be a standing table fan or the clip part, without the hole…but for someone who has molding in a room, the clip will work fine as well.
This fan is a good size for an office desk and it’s just enough white noise to block out the little things. I’m able to take phone calls without a loud fan blowing directly into my ear piece (I would not recommend facing the fan directly at your mouth piece though… just like any fan, this would sound incredibly loud and annoying!) I use it in an office situation and will use it daily for roughly 6 hours a day. I will update this in a few months if the fan changes.
I really just got this to make noise to drown out roommates who are up late at night, cooking or getting things from the fridge. It looks cheap, but it’s still working after about 2 years. For extra noise, tape an open, paper sandwich bag to the front.
This thing was my savior in a hot building with crummy AC. It definitely gets the job done and is reasonably priced. Its range of motion is a little limited, though, so it was a little tricky finding the right way to clip it to my bed and have it point in my direction. After about 4 months of use, it started producing an off-and-on sort of whine, a bit like a sci-fi UFO taking off when powered on. Once it got running, it wasn’t so noticeable, but on High, it was a little annoying. You might want to pay a little more for something with more longevity, as I expect the sound is indicative of it wearing out.
It is okay. The reason I didn’t review it high was because it came up in my search for a treadmill fan, because you can clip it on. I bought it, and whenI got to my treadmill I thought, where the heck do you clip it? Every place on my treadmill is either too thick for the clip, or if you ca clip it, it points straight up at the ceiling of down at the floor. It is most definitely NOT a solution for my treadmill needs!
Only works when it wants to. I have to spin the propeller to get it to work, GARBAGE!
2 stars cause the fan blows good air. It was hard to to assemble and made super cheap. The clip wont fit on much. Has to be super small. And doesnt adjust much. Bad design.
Decent little fan. I like the clip and stand options, gives me more choices in placement. The stand will also work with other brand clip fans. 2 speed settings.
Very convenient because you can either clip it on on use it as a stand alone. The cord seems rather short but expands as needed because it’s curly.
It’s a spiffy, little fan that’s very versatile and quiet. Not a “fan” of the coiled, spring-like cord but that’s not a real problem.
Works as intended.
Works well, would be better if the cord was not coiled.
great air flow for its size
Nice little fan. I really like the stand option even if i never use it.
