It’s a great laptop and worth the purchase. I thought it needed a little kick in the shorts so I upgraded the hard drive to a solid state drive and added another 8GB of RAM. I could not find what kind of RAM was in there so I wanted to put this photo up so you could see where the RAM was, the hard drive was, and what type of RAM was there to make a matched set. Matched sets perform better.Remove the battery, remove all the screws you see, take out the CD drive, remove two more screws, remove the black rear hinge covers, remove two more screws, remove the gray screw covers (oval) that hide the last two screws on the bottom of the laptop and remove them too. The palm rest pops off and reveals all you need. The performance upgrade is worth it. However, this WILL void your warranty so be careful.Overall, I’m glad I got this laptop. It works for absolutely everything I need it to plus everything I want it to do.
I needed something with a powerful processor to do some resource intensive work and this thing is a ROCKET!It is indeed a skylake Quadcore with integrated graphics so its not optimized for super heavy gaming although its run my games absolutely fine. No slowing down. Also ive read people complaining about the hard drive and fan noise. Mine is 100% silent. I havent heard a peep.I was going to put in a SSD but this thing is so fast and responsive that I just dont see a reason too although I do run an external SSD from the USB 3.0 which is phenomenally FAST!The new WIFI A.C. allows me to take advantage of my fast home wifi….and i mean its FAST!The bluetooth works as expected. The screen is brilliant and I love that its also a touch screen. No bloatware!! Love that. You can buy this cheaper from Microsoft because its loaded with bloatware that people have a tough time removing. The USB 3.0 is so fast I can boot from a thumb drive or external drive. This Chipset is made to play well with windows 10 and I must say I was skeptical about windows 10 because it slowed and crashed my other 3 laptops but it runs smooth and flawless on this laptop. There is a version with backlit keys if you need that. I have little LED light plugged into my usb so I have no problems seeing my keys but I admit backlit keys are cool and I have them on my dell inspiron core i5.Overall this exceeded my expectation. I thought boot time would be slow because of the 5400rpm hard drive but mine boots instantlyIve read mixed reviews about this system and Either they recieved bad apples or im lucky and recieved a diamond which i dont believe. This system handles 15 google tabs open at the same time along with a VPN running and my company platform which is normally a system downer but I havent seen this thing slow down for anything yet. Everything starts and stops when I want it too.I am beyond happy. I wouldnt get this if youre a hard core gamer because this has the 530 integrated graphics instead of an nvidia but again…I havent had problems with any games. I only play a couple hours a day so im far from hardcore. You can buy this cheaper from microsoft site but be prepared to deal with system crashing bloatware thats virus like and hard to remove. I watched my neighbor deal with this and its why I paid a little more for a clean system. The only software I got was windows 10 and it runs perfect.
This laptop is good for the price. It comes with the latest intel skylake core i7 6700hq quad core processor, which is powerful and will do multitasking with ease.It comes with 8gb of DDR3L memory which is expandable up to 16gb of DDR3L memory, which gives you room for more memory in the future if you need it.The gpu is an Intel HD graphics 530, it’s a pretty good everyday gpu that can handle your typical task with ease. It’s very good with video decoding since it uses quick sync technology built in.The hard drives is a 1TB 5400rpm hard drive that will give you a lot of storage for files, music phots etc..The battery life is a 4 cell battery which gives you about 4 hours of normal web surfing. It comes with the latest wireless protocol WIFI 802.11ac which will give you further range of connectivity then ever before. There are 2, USB 3.0 ports for fast file transfers from a USB 3.0 portable device. There is a built in media card reader that will support multiple memory formats. There is an HDMI 1.4 port for 1080p connection to a TVIt comes with a multi DVD-RW\CD-RW drive for disc media. The Ethernet lan is 10/100gbIt comes with a touch screen that is very responsive to the touch. The screen is a nice 1080p display.I would recommend this laptop for everyday users as it will suit your needs and then some for some time to come.A couple of things to note…This laptop will only use DDR3L memory. Regular DDR3 memory could end up shortening the lifespan of this processor, because the voltage on regular DDR3 memory is higher then what this processors IMC accepts. This laptop is not DDR4 compatible. Even though Intels 6th gen Skylake processors can accept both DDR3L and DDR4 memory, it will only accept whatever the motherboard uses and in this case this laptop’s motherboard uses a DDR3 pin connector. This processor is non upgradable. it uses a BGA fitting that’s soldered onto the motherboard. Every intel 5th gen and 6th gen mobile processors are BGA now.
Touch screen gets glitchy and goes crazy without touching it. Makes it very difficult to do work that requires any detail.
muy buena
I purchased this laptop back in Sept 2016 and around Feb 2017 started to have an odd issue where the Laptop says it is Plugged in but not charging.
i love it
Very good!
I ordered this HP Pavilion 15.6 inch Flagship laptop on March 23, 2017 and it arrived on March 29. After setting it up I noticed that the touch pad/palm rest rattled when I tapped…
