Not properly sized for a mini USB plug; have your Dremel ready.
For the price, it mostly does what it’s supposed to – fits on standard GoPro hardware. But the openings on the side to allow you to insert a mini USB plug are not sized correctly. In order to get the USB cable fully seat in the GoPro’s USB port, we had to shave some of the plastic off the body of the USB plug. After the gig was over, when I returned home, I tried using a number of different mini USB cables, and all had the same problem – the opening on the frame is too small and the cables won’t seat. I will be taking to the frame with a Dremel to widen it, then it will be fine.Bottom line is that if you need to have access to the USB port, you’ll need to do surgery either on this frame or on your USB cable, or it won’t fit. If that’s not an issue for you, then this is a good product for the price.

It works really well and I’ve been using it since January of this year. I read some reviews that this was cracking the face of the camera when installing but I can’t see that happening unless you are forcing it on. The plastic it is made of is very forgiving and flexes open far enough to just set the go pro in without needing to force the edge of the frame over the front of the camera. This is my most used go pro accessorie since.
Does the job right
This does exactly what you’d want it to. It can be a little tricky getting it in, but after about 30 seconds of wiggling your GoPro around, it will fit in the frame snugly. The GoPro will not jiggle or shift at all while it’s in the frame. I like using this product, because it will pick up audio MUCH better and it’s a lot lighter.
Good skeleton mount, but one minor flaw.
A good lightweight mount that offers very little protection, but is useful if you don’t want to film through the glass on the geniune protective case. However, I did have a problem with the settings button on the side of the camera. This case appears to have sized the hole too small and when mounted, the case is pushing against the settings button enabling/disabling WiFi. It’s inconvenient, but I think I’ll find a way to increase the size of the hole in the case. I haven’t seen other reviews on here with the same problem so it’s possible this problem is exclusive to me. I am using this to mount a GoPro Hero4 Black.

I thought, “Why not? It’s only a couple of bucks, right?“WRONG.The product itself is exactly the sort of cheap plastic you would expect so I wasn’t disappointed about that in the least. What was disappointing was the way this cheap plastic tore the plastic off my GoPro as it was being put on. The corner by the lens has a seam and this plastic cut right into that seam, snapping the plastic and ripping off a portion.Clearly, getting what you pay for can also be punitive and I definitely got punished for my indiscretion. I will not make the same mistake again now that my GoPro has been defaced.

It doesn’t fit into the GoPro mounts as well as GoPro branded accessories. The plastic on the tabs at the bottom is a little thicker, so it is difficult to get it into the base. That said, it works well enough, especially for the price.

Yes, it’s a tight fit, but doesn’t feel like it will break.One thing- its opening over the cable ports and SD Card slot is too small. Remove the camera’s rubber cover before inserting camera if you need access after mounting.
Good generic replacement
I feel this earns 5 stars. It is somewhat light weight but it has worked well for me and the price is right. I have not been able to compare it to the actual GoPro brand but that may not be necessary as this has been working great so far.

This product is straight forward. Note that the access area may not allow your mini HDMI or mini usb connectors to completely connect. Overall pleased with this product.

Good aftermarket product for my GO Pro. Will definitely he protect it.
Much lighter than stock case
If using your go pro as a helmet cam, this is much better. The plastic case is much heavier and feels awkward on my head. This is barely noticeable.
