Won’t scratch delicate surfaces when wet
Over 60 years ago, we created Kimwipes Wipers, the first and still the Number 1 lab wiper. From sterile pre-saturated cleanroom wipers to the wiper that’s the industry standard for labs and research, Kimtech Brand continues to provide the high-performance wiper solutions you need for wiping surfaces, parts, instruments and cleaning lenses. This wiper is made of 100% virgin wood fiber to help prevent contamination. The dispenser box has a pop-up hole that helps to dispense wipes one-at-at-time and prevent electrostatic shock. Industrial wipes are non-woven disposable towels consisting of wood pulp, synthetic fibers, or a blend, and reinforced with a binder. They are used to wipe small quantities of solvents or other liquid from hands, tools, equipment, or other surfaces.
I am about five years out of biochemistry graduate school now and every now and then, in my day-to-day life, there are things from the lab that I wish I had at home. Kimwipes are some of those things, and thankfully, something accessible to the general public. These were good enough to clean fingerprints and smudges from delicate optical equipment in the lab, including quartz cuvettes for various spectrometers, so I know that they won’t scratch up my (polycarbonate) glasses, when I need to wipe them off. (Damage on glasses from, say, Kleenex, is not always evident right away, but scratches accumulate over time. With Kimwipes, you just don’t start forming scratches.)These absorb a little liquid. They are pretty thin and I wouldn’t suggest using them in place of Kleenex when you have a cold or something, as they are not really designed to have a lot of absorbance.I bought them for craft purposes. There are some times when I have to sand and clean a metal blank or a wire, before adding a color (e.g., enamel, alcohol ink, etc.) or soldering them or something. Of course I work with gloves on, but to just do a last step wipe-down after other cleaning procedures, I use these! They are lint-free so I am not adding junk to the surface of the metal that I have just cleaned, and they don’t scratch anything I don’t want to be scratched.
These wipes along with lens cleaner are doing a great job cleaning the lenses in my reading glasses. I find that they do a much better job than tissue as they are lint free and gentle on the lens. The boxes are handy and dispense well. I have glasses in various parts of the house so the three pack is extremely handy.
I got these to help me get my glasses clean after rinsing them. They work great. I like that they come in a little pop-up box sort of like facial tissues do. The three-pack is a good idea. Now I can put one in a vehicle or two and keep one by the sink where I wash my glasses. These are excellent for cleaning eyeglasses. (Remember, as the optical shop techs tell you, don’t wipe any glasses without first ensuring there are no abrasive particles on them; rinse with water or something suitable or spray them with compressed air first to wash away anything that might cause scratches). I will definitely keep Kimwipes in stock for cleaning my glasses from now on.
A friend who is an optician (builds lenses and stuff) for satellites and stuff like that recommended me these so I decided to gave’m a try and now I am sold. I use them to clean all my expensive optics and not a scratch as of yet. Make sure you use them a tad wet with some alcohol, otherwise they will leave a bit of dust (which can be easily removed with compressed air, or any air duster)
I used to use tons of these when I was a chemist working in different labs and decided to get some for my electronics and hobby work. They work great at soaking up stuff without leaving lint or bits of tissue.
I love these things. You can’t beat Kimwipes for electronics work with soldering a flux. These and alcohol will clean your excess flux away leaving your solder work looking nice and pretty.I use Kimwipes with lens cleaner on my eye glasses and all of my dSLR lenses and filters. The lint free part of their design is a big help here.I received these Kimwipes quickly, nicely boxed, and at a good price.I try very hard to NEVER run out of Kimwipes, just like not running out of toothpaste and other necessities!
Great product. We like our glasses super clean and this does the job. Just spray glass cleaner, use two wipes and polish. Does not leave lint or residue on lens.
Great tissues for cleaning optics and camera lenses. Save your money from overpriced lens tissues at photo stores. This is the exact same thing.
love these for daily eyeglass cleaning.
These wipes are GREAT! Perfect for fine optics or CD/DVD cleaning.
Use it to clean my glasses and it works great
Its alright for glasses but you will have to use double and sometimes more but their made for microscope’s
Good price for the product.
Keeps my glasses clean and clear without the fuzz. Great dispenser box too.
Product exactly as described. Very fast delivery.
Finally found a good lint-free general purpose lab wipe.
These are crap and a total waste of money, the tissue is way too thin and too small, you would need to use three tissues at a time to clean one pair of glasses….
