I have no idea why I waited so long to buy this bowl. It’s perfect. It twists on and off with no problems like some have stated. No jamming or getting stuck at all. The pour spout is way convenient. The glass is quite thick which I hope means it’ll be durable and last(I’m sure it will). I love being able to see through to my ingredients and having the measure marks on the side is so nice too. It is about 1-1.5 inches wider than the original steel bowl it came with(including the spout). I have the artisan 5qt and this fits like a glove.😉 my mixing attachments fit nicely into the bowl for storage. I simply love having a bowl with a lid that snaps on for storage. Like, I seriously love it! No more saran wrap that won’t cling…lol It is obviously heavier but that’s completely OK with me. No heavier than my cast iron I’m sure. Just a perfect bowl..😍😍 we were obviously meant to be together…..Happy Cooking!
My husband bought this bowl as a replacement for my glass bowl, which unfortunately broke. I absolutely love the rubber lid that comes with, before my bowl will always end up getting some dust in it while not in use and now with the lid I can keep it all clean inside. The only problem I have with this one is that its kind of hard to get it to fit on the mixer, needs a bit of twisting and turning till it snaps right on place. That’s why I gave it 4 stars. Other than that no issues, will definitely recommend it!
I have been looking at this glass bowl since I purchased my KitchenAid two years ago. I’m so glad I finally decided to buy it. My metal bowl would get jammed into the bottom of the mixer and I had to use a rubber mallet to loosen it and get it out. This one is easy to put on and easy to release. I love that fact that I can see that every thing is getting well mixed without stopping the mixer and checking. This is a great bowl and I would say if you are hesitating - don’t! I store all the various beaters inside the bowl and have freed up some storage space by doing that. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase.
Love this glass bowl in the 5 qt size! I’ve used it for holiday baking and some of the batters I make produce a big amount, so the extra capacity of this bowl is great. It is quite heavy since it’s a really substantial glass and lifting it is quite a bit different from using the metal bowl that came with my KitchenAid mixer, so you really need to be sure you have a good firm hold on the handle. Those with arthritis in their hands may want to reconsider this purchase due to the weight of the bowl, but even with my mild arthritis I’m still sold on this bowl. The pour spout makes transferring batter to the baking pan really easy and while I haven’t yet used the lid, I’m sure that it too will come in handy for future needs. A little pricey, but a super buy nevertheless.
I absolutely LOVE this bowl. I wanted one so bad but the price is just outrageous. I received it as a christmas gift from my husband. I cannot say enough how much I love it. It’s oversized compared to my stainless bowls. I love that it has a lid. I can keep it with my mixer and the whisk and such nestle right in. The divot in the top is for the head of the mixer to set in when not in use. BUY ONE! You will not regret it!
Why is it that as soon as you use one bowl you realize you sure could use another? It might as well be beautiful. The box print says it can go into the freezer, but I’m not sure I’ll do that. The bowl looks too huge for the Artisan, but it fits just right. I love seeing my KitchenAid in action, every kitchen should have one! As another review stated, it has it’s own lid. It’s heavy, so if someone is not very strong I would caution them with this purchase. When you can lift things easily its not a big issue, but that same issue has found many a cast iron skillet a new home, so I just think it should be said. I live it that KitchenAid has so many nice accessories!
The bowl feels solid, and the lid fits well. I attached the bowl to my KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer. At first, the flat beater lightly hit the side of the bowl when mixing. I detached the bowl, rotated it 180 degrees, and reattached it; in this new position, the flat beater did not hit the side of the bowl.
It’s nice to have a clear glass bowl for mixing, much easier to see the what your working on. Having a lid is a nice touch also, for those things that you want to hold in the fridge until ready. Only issue I have is that my zip-up fabric stand cover doesn’t fit over it very easily. But other than that, it’s perfect!
Good quality!
First I bought this as I loved how it looked on my counter with my machine. The second time I used it the rubber foot dislodged and the glass bowl with eggs went flying.
just what i need and order
Love the bowl, but when making cookies with thick dough it pulls the bowl out of the plastic adapter for the base and bowl starts bouncing everywhere.
Works great
