Product Reviews

Optical zoom not good for nature shots

I’m not sure what kind of photography people are using this for as it seems to have good reviews overall. I read those first and decided it was worth it. It’s not for me. I wanted an good zoom in a bridge camera for bird photography and the description on this says it takes clear and crisp pictures at the maximum zoom. No it doesn’t unless it’s mounted on a tripod. It is impossible to hand hold at maximum length and get clear photos. The camera will zoom in on a target than use AF to continually try to keep a focus. By the time you actually think you see a clear shot, the subject is gone. There is very little image stabilization at 42x. If you want a camera that takes good photos of a still image or when not in zoom mode, it does okay. I tried using a fast shutter speed for birds but then the aperture was slow and so not enough light was let in. You cannot change aperture when in shutter mode, the camera does it for you. Also I fully charge the battery before going out. After one hour and approximately 100 shots, the battery is drained. That’s not what they advertise and I called the company and they said an hour of continuous shooting is about right. When shooting in continuous frame mode, you can just see the battery dumping power. And finally, I constantly zoom in and out when focusing on a subject to get the best shot. The lens actually got stuck a couple times and I had to turn the camera off to retract the lens and start all over. This is not acceptable for field work. If you want a nice camera for vacations, pet pictures, people, landscapes, this camera does a good job but not for anything that moves. As for the sticky lens, if it does this on a new camera, I don’t expect it to last very long. And there is no EVF which is really difficult for outside work. The LCD screen picks up a lot of glare and light on a sunny day and you can’t even seen what you are shooting at that point. It’s going back and I’ll spring for something better. you can see the quality of pictures using the scene mode sunset for one and the other using a fast shutter speed with aperture open to the corresponding shutter speed of 11000. Not enough light. I do have a pricey DSLR but wanted something quick and lightweight when out for a couple hours. This doesn’t cut it.

Good pictures

This camera takes beautiful photographs. The only problem is the screen, you can’t appreciate the quality of your picture on it (even some times you can’t see if the picture was blurry or don’t).

Really nice camera.

Was looking for an inexpensive camera but good quality. It is easy to use and I love all the features. You will have to purchase a memory card. Glad I bought it. And thank you to the other reviewers for helping me make a decision. I’m glad I got this camera.

20MP is Better

The zoom isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Sure you can zoom but the steadiness, even with a tripod isn’t there.

Amazing

It came with everything that was listed in the included section. I absolutely love the camera. It’s my first camera and I just can’t put it in words how much I love it. However, one thing that kind of bugged me was that it had about four pictures of a family on it, but I just deleted them and moved on.

Battery can’t charge

I bought this camera and didn’t really use it until 2 months later when I was on a trip. I used the camera for 1 day, and then I need to charge the battery, that’s when the…

DO NOT BUY this LEMON, read ALL the reviews

soooo disappointed. read the reviews this is AWFUL and NOT user friendly. Will not hold a charge, has focus delay that makes it impossible to get clear photos.

Faulty battery

Everything was packaged nicely, but unfortunately when I turned the camera on it shut off after a few seconds.

Five Stars

Great product.

OK for moderate lighting, but overexposed with bright sunlight.

The camera takes great pictures when it is not too bright outside. When it is bright, no setting allows you to take a good picture.

if the battery worked, I’d be a happy camper

This thing took amazing pictures for about a month - crisp color as long as you hold it very still. I was using it, the power won’t come back on and the battery won’t charge.

Nice!

Four Stars

Takes good pictures, don’t expect pro

about a third into the zoom it would begin to “blur” and at full zoom really bad (was using a tripod AND 10 sec timer)

Had high expectations for this camera as I owned a “high end” Kodak camera before. However, the camera would not focus properly: about a third into the zoom it would begin…
