I have come to love this device, which I bought primarily to photograph my new dog. I think it takes terrific pictures (I’ll attach one of them), but my initial reaction was tainted when I tried to get a users manual. I went to the website of JK Imaging LTD, which actually manufactures the item for Kodak, and found user manuals for numerous cameras, but not the FZ51. The website listed quite a few customer service phone numbers, but none in the United States. The box contained an ominous-sounding note saying “Stop–do not return product before contacting JK Imaging LTD,,” so I emailed them and while their reply did include a link to download the manual, it also included the disclaimer: “We are regret to inform you that Amazon does not belong to our official retailers, therefore the one-year warranty does not cover any repair of your device, I am afraid.” Once I downloaded the manual, however, it did include a phone number for Kodak USA, and a customer service rep said that is not true, that the standard one-year warranty does apply. So for the time being, at least, I’m very happy; it’s a remarkable camera for the price, and I haven’t had any of the problems some other reviewers have had with blurry edges or logos that have to be deleted. Definitely well worth the money.
great
Decent camera for a novice, or light picture taker. I bought this for my 80+ year old grandmother who loves having photos of her family. She didn’t need anything fancy, just a decent camera that was simple to use. This was it! Not a superb picture, but just what was needed.
Small, elegant design with good features. Great price. Be sure to buy memory card.
Camera stopped working dependably, after a few months. Sometimes it charges, sometimes not. Sometimes it turns on, most often it won’t. This camera has not been dropped or been around water/moisture. In an attempt to resolve the issue went to Kodak’s website. The following is what I read: Please read this response:In early 2012, Kodak ceased production of digital cameras, digital video cameras, and digital picture frames. sorry I had to return the shutter would not open other yhan that it seemed like a good product
Okay but lags a little when you try to snap a picture, and is nearly impossible to use in low light.
I found this camera to be perfect, in every way. The pictures are sharp. I liked this camera enough, that I bought a second one.
The box looked like it had been around the world and back and the camera would not even turn on. It was not mentioned that this camera had been previously used/returned.
so far so good.
Not even 6 months after buying it, it would not recharge the battery. Bought a new battery and it wouldn’t recharge that either..
Good for the price.
did a great job when on vacation
Awesome product! Great value
Was not good as described. No good photos.
No I had to return it
Have had no pics to take except of heat wave but the few I have are great. Going thru learning process. Thank the crew for sending me the manual. Really needed it.
