    Product Description

Ride Comfort may be important, but restoring a vehicle’s Ride Control; stability, stopping, lane change responsiveness and handling is critical. KYB Excel-G Shocks & Struts are designed for the most important performance purpose: Restoring the vehicle’s original capabilities. KYB is a world leading supplier of shocks and struts to new vehicle manufacturers and the Excel-G is made on the very same KYB OE assembly lines, uses the same OE quality components and is calibrated to restore original, designed performance, not change it. That has earned Excel-G the classification: OEA (Original Equipment for the Aftermarket). The KYB Excel-G is a nitrogen gas-charged, twin-tube design that includes every quality component that our global OEM products include and it is the preferred choice for Asian vehicles.

Product Reviews

All metal conconstruction, fit perfectly and easy to install on 2011 Honda Pilot Touring.

Car: 2011 Honda Pilot Touring @75k miles.Like: The whole thing made out of metal. Easy to install.Driving experience after installed: A bit stiffer (which is nice) and feel slightly difference but not so much.Installation: I pull a camper and at 75k miles it is recommended to replace the OEM shocks. I am not a car guy. I watched quite a few YouTube videos that gave me confident so I went. I installed two on the rear only. There are only 3 bolts to take off each side. Two small one on top and a bigger one at the bottom. BEFORE YOU PROCEED PLEASE SPRAY SOME OF PENETRATION SPRAY ON THOSE NUTS AND BOLT. I learned the hard way. I stripped one of the bold due to rust and I had to order and waited for 3 days from the dealership to get a replacement. Total time spent about 40 minutes for both side.Dealer wants $550 for parts and labor. Total cost for me was $130 and I did it myself.

The Only Reasonable Alternative for Replacement Rear Shocks for 2009-2011 Honda Pilots, at Best

They are not Bilstein’s nor Koni’s, but KYBs or Showa’s (stock) are the only rear shocks available without going super exotic and very expensive for the not-so-medium duty Pilot. Bilstein and Koni do not make models for the 2009-11 Honda Pilot. The rear stock shocks were going away at 58,000+ miles. Stock shocks at the dealers are too expensive for the rather mediocre performance when new. The KYB’s are a better buy for the money if you buy them online. Don’t expect a jump in performance, it is just a little bit better than stock and a cheaper cost alternative to stock replacements.

Replaced the rear shocks on my 2013 Honda Pilot at about 58k. I had 1 shock that was bad (leaking) and made the entire vehicle run somewhat unstable over ripples in the concrete. Dang, so easy and quick to do. Perfect fit. Seemed nicer than the stock shocks I replaced.
