Raspberry pi Camera not included- Case only
This is an elegant and innovative protective case designed specifically for the Raspberry Pi Camera. The case is a two-piece injection-moulded ABS enclosure that snaps together around the Raspberry Pi Camera. It provides tough protection for the Raspberry Pi Camera while providing access to connectors.
This thing serves as little more than a way to mount your camera unit. It’s overpriced for what it is.Flimsy plastic tabs hold the two halves together and the camera unit inside. There is nothing to protect the lens of the camera as it just sticks out of a hole in the case.I would gladly pay more for something that provided more protection for the lens as well as sealing out dust and moisture to the body.
Placing my RPi camera into this case was a breeze. There seemed to be an issue with the camera itself, as turning the cable slightly caused it to become unplugged from the camera portion, so there was a bit of trial and error with getting it into the housing and hoping it hadn’t come unplugged this time. Once it’s in, it’s solid, though. There could be a few more positioning options, but for the price, it does what it does perfectly.
doesnt fit any revision of the pi cam that I have. The pins line up with the holes fine and, after some modification, it will close but it does not line the camera up with the lens hole.im sure I can get it to line up a little better on the standard pi cam by modifying the lens hole but I shouldn’t have to. The 1080p NoIR cam has the same problem but the lens hole is off much more for that one.
You would think a raspi cam case would work with raspi cams
Really nice little case to go along with the camera I bought in a kit. Fits good and comes with two mounting screws and some double-sided tape to allow you a choice of mount options.
Case is ok.For the V2 IR camera the Lens dosnt fit through the front of the box and there are components on the board that are in the same place as the supports. To make it fit i had to file bits of the case away.
It’s not a bad little case, but the one I received simply doesn’t fit the camera board. The board mounts fine on the internal pegs, but the lens assembly doesn’t line up with the hole in the case so the back won’t go on all the way. How you could get this wrong is beyond me, but the lower edge of the lens is about 1⁄16 or so below the hole in the case.
Lens of camera is off center. Doesn’t stay together, has to be glued or taped. Not worth the money, don’t buy. It’s worth $3 TOPS. If you’re going to charge $8 for something this small and cheap to produce, it better work. This fails miserably.
Does not fit the v2 camera.
Doesn’t fit, I want my money back.
As many before have said the camera doesn’t sit well in the pegs allowing the camera to be placed correctly in the opening.
Like others, I had to expand the hole on the front. Unlike others, it is staying clipped in. Now let’s see how it fires up.
Still flops around – someone really needs to make a case that has integrated campi holder
Hole did not line up with v2 camera, but was easily fixed with small pocket knife. I just extended the hole down and it works fine now.
It is NOT for the new 8mp camera. You can’t fit the lid closed. The hole doesn’t line up with the aperture, as others have noted.
Doesn’t fit the 8MP V2 cameras (noir or full-color).
