These are great cases for projects like a Retropie where you only need the ports open. The rest of the case is enclosed aside from a mesh at the back for air venting. A lot of other cases have large cut outs to access things like the GPIO pins, but that’s not needed for a single-use project. The case fits together well and there is not movement or play once screwed together.

This housing is perfect for my Raspberry media center

This housing is perfect for my Raspberry media center. It sits almost invisible on my entertainment shelf. The card is tucked away securely inside the case and that’s OK because the media center is configured and left alone with no requirement to mess with the micro SD card. I tried to duplicate the heating issue reported by another customer by leaving the Raspberry on for 3 days straight but it never got any warmer than any other piece of elecronics gear. It may have to do with how it is being used . If this is set up in a lab environment where the CPU us heavily taxed then like any other CPU it will get hotter. I watched a 3 hour movie then it sat idle most of the time. It has a vent that covers one entire end of the case.

Case is nice but airflow is not great

I like the look of this case but the pi 2 I’m using gets pretty warm inside. I think I’ll spring for an active cooling case next time.

Perfect for simple applications

I really enjoy this case a lot! The aesthetics of the case are a highlight, but also its simplicity. It’s a low profile case with no corners and as few edges as possible, creating a sleek look. The micro SD card access on the rear panel of the case is a huge plus, as I am always swapping cards out.The only problem that I have with this case is that it doesn’t vent heat very well. Other cases will feature a vent on the top that is in one shape or another- a raspberry, for instance. There’s no good way for this to dissipate heat, even if you have heat sinks.If you’re going to be using your PI for very simple tasks, this case is great. If you’re going to be putting a bigger load on your CPU, find a case that ventilates heat a lot better.

Nice case but access to the SD card isn’t the greatest.

Over all it’s a good case. I haven’t used it with my pi under a lost of use but it might not have the air flow needed for a pi 3, if you are using the pi at it’s limits.
