Sound bar

Product Reviews

surprised and happy

I received this sound bar as a bundle with a new television that i recently purchased. I did not use this for my new tv because I have an existing surround system. I did however pair it up with the tv that I was replacing (only moving it to another room). The sound is very good for a sound bar. I’ve had others with squashed high hopes and really never planned on owning another. The sub woofer pairs very easily, and the wireless part is a definite plus (still needs to be plugged in to an outlet, has about a 5-6 foot cord). The sound bar itself sounds very clear and the volume is pretty amazing. The sub woofer sounds good, but won’t blow your socks off. If your intent is to use the sound bar alone, don’t bother buying it. There’s practically no bass what so ever coming out of the sound bar alone. Paired with the sub woofer though is a different story. All in all it’s a very good combo. If i ever had a need for another I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase this again.

It’s a solid performer and the value is right.

Average Product with a Critical Flaw

Pros:1. Product Design:Absolutely stunning including the sub-woofer. surface of sub-woofer is patterned which makes it look more high-end product.2. Auto-On function:I connected this sound bar to PF1500 (LG Projector) using Bluetooth connection since projector is about 13 ft away from this sound bar. When I turn on the projector with projector remote controller, sound bar automatically turns on as well.3. Bass is solid4 Inter-operability with LG smart TV is convenient.Cons:1. Biggest Problem. Bluetooth Connection unstable with LG magic remote:LG Smart TV’s Magic Remote controller uses Bluetooth technology to connect with TV, which may interfere with audio over Bluetooth connection. However, LG developed a technology called “SoundSync” to minimize this interference. I tested and confirmed that when Magic Remote controller is in use, Bluetooth sound is unstable. To explain, audio over Bluetooth connection “stutters” if you can understand what I am trying to explain. However, when I put down the Magic Remote controller, audio becomes stable again. This might be a deal breaker for people who purchased this for Bluetooth connection.2. Auto-On function:There is absolutely no pass-code for connecting Bluetooth. This sound bar is always Bluetooth paring ready. when someone connects to this sound bar, it turns on. if you live in an apartment, your neighbor can turn your sound bar on without you noticing it. This auto-on function can be turned off, but that way you have to turn on both your TV and sound bar separately. I wish there is a pass-code for initial Bluetooth pairing.3. LED indicator in the middle is annoying:A few reviewers mentioned this earlier. It is actually disturbing when watching movie in a dark room. You can turn the LED completely off, but this way, you won’t see volume changing indication. There is a dimmer function that led indicator becomes less bright. Still bright though. I wish this LED indicator on only when I make changes in sound.4.Mid sound is weak: Personally, I think Vizio’s $98 model sounds a little better for the price range

Adds robust sound to 55” HDTV

I purchased a LG LA6900 55” smart HDTV about a year ago and have never been happy with the sound. I knew this was a shortcoming when I bought it, and otherwise, I like the TV. This sound bar makes all the difference in sound quality. It has the option of using either optical or HDMI connection. When I first started shopping, a customer service rep at the well-known blue big box store told me optical was the best connection; that HDMI splits the signal. Sounded good at the time. However, after researching the connection options, I learned that the consistent recommendation is to use the HDMI ARC connection on the TV if available. Some articles said there was little noticeable difference between optical and HDMI, but still said HDMI was preferable. I downloaded the Owner’s Manual, and it describes the optical connection first, HDMI ARC next, without offering a preference. I used the HDMI connection and didn’t test optical. However, I’m glad to have the optical option because I only have 3 HDMI connections on the TV and I may need all of them in the future.Setup is super easy, even though the instructions that come with the unit seem less than robust at first glance. The instructions are mostly pictorial, but are clear and cover various connection and setup options. The TV has a setting for an external sound bar that includes auto AV sync. I plugged in power to the wireless sub and it was immediately synced in. My TV is on a stand that has 3 open glass shelves. I put the sound bar on the middle shelf and the sub beside the stand. Wall-mount brackets are also included. The sound bar has several sound effect settings, but the only one I use is “cinema.” This setting produces rich, room-filling sound while preserving dialog clarity. The sound bar has lots of options for connecting other devices, which I haven’t explored. I bought it to add sound quality and clarity to my 55” HDTV, and it more than satisfies that reason for purchase.

Great sound bar

Great sound bar, just don’t use the LG wireless connectivity to the TV. Had awful audio sync issues along with a high pitched background tone. Using the HDMI Arc channel, works great. Just need to ensure you use the TV as the AV receiver. Bass module is surprisingly good, to the point where we needed to level it back because it was rattling the entertainment center.Bought this for my parents as a replacement to their 15 year old 650w 5.1 Sony system and sounds amazing compared to it. Due to the size of the soundbar, mid level range isn’t overly rich, but highs are crisp and neat without hiss or tin, and the module handles low’s well for it’s size. For someone who’s not looking to invest in a full component system or want something simple for the 65 and over crowd, this is great.Very pleased with it

Display problem solved

I’ve got it recently, totally love it! No problems woth Bluetooth or other things mentioned.By the way, you can turn off the display, just press the SLEEP button ONCE and it…

Broke after 10 months, was repaired, then broke again. Will not be purchasing LG products again.

Broke after 10 months - just wouldn’t turn on one day. I went through the hassle of packaging it up and sending it back to LG.

Good Stuff.

Still working. Life is good….

Five Stars

love it

No Remote w/ Sound Bar

Bought the same bar, but somewhere else after returning this one….It didn’t come with a remote🙄

I love it.

I love it.

great

Worth the Money.

Great sound. Clear treble and bass.

Total waste of money

Total waste of money!!! Very often, the bluetooth stops working and it is not possible to connect any device to it (phone, tablet), even if the bar is discoverable at that time.

Mixed Feelings about This One

This sound bar is OK, but it was ostensibly made to go with my model of LG TV, and I have had a lot of trouble getting it to synch with my cable remote.
