Front and rear carry handles for easy transport; Backed by a 5-year limited manufacturer warranty
The Lifetime Payaette 116” kayak is a “sit-inside” kayak that has a large cockpit and a comfortable backrest for your long paddling adventures. Designed for extreme safety and stability, the Payette has a stable flat bottom with deep tracking channels and stability chine rails. The kayak is constructed of blow-molded high-density polyethylene making it durable, UV-protected, and impact resistant. The lightweight, 44 pound design and front and rear carry handles make it easy to transport to and from the waterfront. With shock cord straps, multiple footrest positions, and an enclosed compartment with a lid and shock cords, this kayak has plenty of “extras” to enhance your paddling experience.
After looking at a number of kayaks online and in stores, I decided to order the Payette about a month ago. I have never owned my own kayak and am by no means a professional kayaker. After 2 uses, I’m completely satisfied with the purchase. I’ve had no issues at all with tracking and love the compartment behind the seat (which as frosty pointed out, is perfect for beer). All in all, I have zero complaints about this kayak and can find no reason to spend more money on another. Looking forward to years of use.
First of all let me start out by saying I have an overwhelming fear of water. So I did a lot of research on what would make a stable kayak, because kayaking always looked like fun to me.My husband and I bought two of these kayaks. We are both beginners (although he’s rented a sea kayak a couple of times before but I have never been in one). This kayak is VERY stable. We went out on Spada Lake in WA state and it was a tad bit windy and the water was a little choppy, there’s also stumps everywhere and big rocks (the water level is very low right now). But I became so impressed with how stable this kayak felt that I started to calm down and slowly come out of my fear of water. It tracked pretty straight, but I’m a beginner paddler so my paddling technique needs to improve. But my husband got his up and moving pretty quickly, so they glide through the water with ease.I love the little storage hatch on the back, and the shock cords on the front. The seat back was comfortable and I wanted to be able to really kick back and enjoy it, but my PFD was giving me issues (I suggest a kayak specific vest…I will be returning mine and getting a kayak PFD). The foot rests are NOT adjustable, but I had no issues with where my feet were resting (I’m 5’7”). My husband had no issues either (he’s 6’). The seat itself was comfortable, I have no complaints with it. If you want adjustable foot rests, I’d suggest replacing these with some. There are no thigh pads for around the cockpit edge though. I had no issue with it’s sharp edges, but they are sharp (especialy when trying to pick it up by the edges). We’ll likely fix that by buying some foam pipe insulation from a home improvement store and put it around the edge of the cockpit.Overall I am very pleased with our purchase and I actually can’t wait to get back out on the water! This is quite an accomplishment for me, but that little yak made me so comfortable on the water with how stable it felt, that I’m eager to get back out there.
Very stable…kind of pulls from side to side but I’m pretty tall for this boat. If you are 5’8” or taller, get a bit more streamlined Yak.
Have a smaller Kayak that my wife has used decided to upgrade to this one It was a great buy. Comfortable , great seat - we live on an island so noodling about in a Kayak is fun This one works great
I love it! The color is perfect, it was delivered on the day I requested and in perfect shape! I can’t wait to take it out on the lake! Thank you so much also for the free delivery right to my door!!
My kids really enjoy this kayak. Good deal and happy with quality
It’s everything it says it is!
Was a great gift
Nice Kayak. A grommet was missing from the top. I will try to find one.
Lots of nice features for a well-priced kayak but the tracking was terrible. My 9 year old daughter struggled to move forward rather than spin in circles when paddling.
I love this kayak! I bought mine at Marshall’ s for $199.00 last year. It’s good for flat water and also for rivers that have small rapids.
It tracks terribly. I expend alot of energy just trying to go straight.
This is a great kayak. Price is best in Walmart
comments powered by DisqusThis by far is the best kayak for beginners and advanced yakers. Stable in lakes even when the skiers and drunks are making huge waves.
