An ideal way for routing the cables while mounting solar panels on vehicles and boats, as well as other installations on buildings, garages, sheds etc
Size:2mm² to 6mm² | Color:White Link Solar ABS Solar Cable Entry Gland is used for the passing of cables into the Motorhome ,from the Solar panel ,or for use on yachts /boats for cable entry from the mast. It can also be used for other installations and structures such as buildings, garages, sheds and other roofs Manufactured by Link Solar
A little pricey for a chunk of plastic, but well designed overall. Note that double stick tape and/or mounting tape will probably not be sufficient to hold this in place against any pressure from the wires or cables going into or out of the unit. No worries, I wound up drilling four mounting screws to hold it securely onto my fiberglass RV roof and that with mounting tape and roof seal caulking has made it a snug an waterproof fitting. As a suggestion to reduce possible water leakage, consider drilling individual, tight fitting holes for each of the two cables or wires to penetrate thru the roof surface rather than one large hole for both cables to fit through together. I recommend this product.
This is as close as I found for a clean inlet for my panel wiring. Of course you need some small SS screws (rather than sealed rivets) to be able to repair & modify. Using sealer should be OK, but the only shortcoming was no seal/sharp protection at the roof entry point but I will use a rubber grommet and seal that and with it pointed to the rear should be OK.
This is a pretty nice item! I installed this beneath a solar panel on the upper deck of my boat & the design allows for the wires to enter the unit horizontally (parallel to the deck) as opposed to vertically. A hint, I used 3M VHB tape to bond the unit to the deck, and then 3M 4200 sealant/caulk around the edges to waterproof install. Allows for a pretty clean installation.
Bought these as an added insurance from leaks. Used it to install two cables from RV roof solar panels to the inside. We used silicon around the holes and installed these over them as a secondary seal. They are made from some sort of plastic. Hopefully they do not degrade from sun exposure. We installed them beneath the panels to help protect against the sun.
I highly recommend this item for running solar wiring through the roof. I used 10 gauge wire and held it down with Dicor 501LSW-1 Lap Sealant and two screws. A friend that helped me with my solar system installation said he wished he had this cable entry gland when he did his install.
This item is well made. I don’t know what the other reviews are talking about with bad gaskets, mine were fine. I use these type of connectors at work and these were just as good. They are plastic, so don’t over tighten. Also the rubber gaskets into the plastic housing will squeeze out if you over tighten them, so don’t over tighten them. They keep out rain not water pressure. This is a very good product for its intended use. I sealed it to my trailer roof to pass solar panel wires inside the trailer to the charge controller.
Delivered promptly. Appears to be well constructed and should provide a waterproof entry point into the roof of my RV, for the installation of my solar panels. Since I am just in the process of setting up my solar system, I am unable to provide a proper functional evaluation of this product. If it passes, the test of time I will update my review and most likely upgrade to 5 Stars.I am most likely going to order an additional one, to provide a waterproof entry point for an elaborate dish system that will require another two cables entering the roof of my RV.
Works great for feeding wires from solar panels to inside of vehicle, with a professional look.
Very nice product , I have installed the product, the only improvement I believe it needs is the rubber washers are cheap and need to improved other than that it is easy to…
Haven’t installed it yet. Appears well made. Should bring two wires through the wall with a water-tight fit.I’ll update when installed.
Good quality waterproof connector to install a solir panel to the roof of truck camper. This allows cables from top connected to cables on the inside without having to worry about…
will do the job
Works like a champ. I attached to the top of my camper shell and used this to feed my solar panel power cable to the controller inside the shell.
seems to work fine … solid …
Haven’t been able to install yet, but product itself looks to be of good quality and exactly as expected.
As described. A piece of plastic. Stylish way to drop cables from the van roof, looks “natural.” Can amazon stop spamming me for a review now?
