Way Better than Expected.
I have Age-Related Macular Degeneration and the small font in printed books is increasingly difficult to see. Whenever possible, I try to read e-books, because the font size can be increased on my tablet. But sometimes, a hard copy is the only thing available. I’ve looked at lots of very expensive desk magnifiers marketed specifically for people with low vision, near-blindness, etc. But before investing in one of those for $200-$500 (other desktop models can run into the thousands!), I thought I’d give this little magnifier one last try.It works very well!!! PLUS… And this is really a MAJOR PLUS… Quite by accident, I stumbled onto an additional use that surprised even me! Since I also have trouble seeing the light blue fonts used for content on a lot of websites, including this one). I discovered this magnifier works well when held up to my 17” laptop screen, so I can now view the pale blue text/content very easily. That alone is worth the purchase. In fact, I may buy a second one just to keep near my PC, and keep one with me to read menues in dimly lit restaurants, etc.(I carry a large purse!0It’s light and portable, unlike the desktop versions which can run into thousands of dollars.

I have vision problems and this is the best reading aide I have ever found. I love it! It magnifies the page of any material you may be reading including websites and the light is bright enough to read with but doesn’t bother someone sitting next to you. I’ve tried nearly every light possible out there and this is very light in weight and features three small led white lights spaced evenly along one side. After cataract surgery and having keratakonus and myasthenia gravis, I needed a light that magnifies and is easy to hold since sometimes my hands don’t work. The clear magnification area of this device is textured on one side and smooth on the other. It features an easy to use slide switch to turn the lights on and off. You control the magnification by where you place this reading aide. Thank you so much for offering this, it is not a novelty item for me but a very useful medical must have for me! It came with an easy to pull tab that kept the batteries nice and fresh too! Easy to use for either right or left handed people!
I would recommend spending your 12 bucks on a better quality product
This magnifier is extremely flimsy. The LED lights do not put out enough light to make a difference. The clear magnifier material is very, very thin. It does not magnify much at all and I wonder if it is 3X. I have a handheld magnifier that is 3X and it magnifies much more than this thing. This product is worth two bucks max. I would recommend spending your 12 bucks on a better quality product.
Grandpa loves it
Got this for my grandpa. He’s blind in one eye and he couldn’t read the newspaper. That was really hard for him to accept because he was stuck relying on tv for news. This little device makes it possible for him to read again. He was so grateful.

Not As Advertised
I expected this magnifier to enhance a full page in the average size book. (8 1⁄2 by 11.“) It does not. It only covers a full page when reading a pocket book.
Poor Quality
Very poor quality. Lights glare across the screen and they do not turn off we had to pull the battery each time.
