my mother-in-law loves this…
ok then…i purchased this product for my ‘former’ mom-in-law after i visited her and was alarmed at how loudshe had the tv volume just so she could hear it. so loud!anyway. to be perfectly honest with you,i wasn’t expecting much from this item because of the price reduction it was being offered at.but ordering this was a fantastic decision on my part.to begin with, it arrived promptly (before the date expected),was very easy to load the battery in the slide-out (no tools needed),and to teach ‘the elder’ how to use was extremely easy.the amplifier comes in a hard plastic case (exactly as shown),with 2 additional batteries and 2 additional ear pieces.the volume control is easily accessible by the wearer,but i recommend adjusting the sound accordingly yourself by letting them wear itwhile you have the tv/radio playing at a ‘normal sound level’.(there is a little ‘feedback involved’ while adjusting the volume,so i was careful not to have the ‘amp’ on high when i began adjusting the sounds…)the power switch is plainly marked on/off and is also easily accessible by the wearer.she absolutely loves the sound clarity the amplifier enhances.{the only drawback (as i am trying to be as truthful as i can be),is the device enhances the fan noise also that she normally has running while she watches tv.}but once she turned-off the fan, she could hear the tv perfectly…i will rate this product 10⁄10, and ‘strongly recommend’ to anyone who needs assistance in hearing.I also plan on purchasing a 2nd amplifier for a back-up spare…*thank-u for reading my review, and i hope it helps. g.
I tried many budget hearing assists. This is the only one I recommend. Rugged, can switch power off by feel.
For what it is, an affordable surrogate for real hearing aids, this is a winner. Tone adjustable and works ok, volume works, and what makes the special: the on/off switch. Most prescription (expensive) hearing aids don’t even have this. My God, saves your batteries, handy to switch on/off by fee, and at night when you take it off. You can use two (they do not pair) and adjust each for your ears.After I got my prescription aid back from repair - I kept this for my backup. comes with several sizes of ear plugs.
misnomer on the aid scene
i was extremely disappointed in the size, with all the hype about the mini ect/. it is any thing but mini.I have several bte aids. the measurements that were given match the mdpro hearing aid , the size of the ear piece again is very large. it actually hangs down when wearing itthe maker of the aid should look at what is out there ,before calling this mini. tell the designer to get back to work and shrink it by half before calling it mini.on the performance of the aid the sound is very good, the back ground filter works well, giving it a b + for sound quality. if it can be made 1⁄2 the size it is now I would pay 2 or 3 times more for the device. it needs to go to the smaller size 13 battery to get rid of some of the bulk.put some more work on the size. other wise it will not do well on the market as is.to end this review if you ware glasses forget this one , its way to big mto even try it.
As good as high priced hearing aid
I had an audiologist as a room mate 30 years ago who told me I needed a hearing aid then. I finally found one that was both comfortable and allows me to hear clearly and at a reasonable price. It is well worth the moneyAnd is a high quality product that I would recommend for anyone needing hearing assistance.
Need a very tiny screwdriver
I wanted to add to the comments that the amplification is fine, but the door that holds the battery does not open. I read in the instructions to call or contact the manufacturer if this occurs. Hong Kong is the location of the mfr so I figured I’d read the reviews. Thanks to the person who used a jeweler’s screwdriver to loosen the door - worked great. I used the smallest screwdriver from my tiny screwdriver set, and ended up removing the screw altogether. Then the door opened and I was able to remove the battery.

JUNK !! DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM, It doesnt work. Comes in nice package with extra batteries and you think “nice” you put it in your ear and all you hear is static. I had my son talk to me and didnt work at all, the static kills ALL. The instructions tell you to turn it up until you hear static so they all ready no its junk. I would like to give this a -5 star.

Purchased as an experiment to see if my ear could tolerate the intrusion. So far, no problem and I am ready to look for and purchase a higher quality unit. I will keep the MEDca as backup…

Seems to be a piece if garbage. Amplifies noise but clarifies nothing. A waste of money.
