For commercial/industrial use only
Size:475 milliliters This MG Chemicals 421 Liquid Tin is a clear immersion tin for coating a copper substrate or solder deposit with a dense tin coating. It tinplates copper circuits on PC boards in 5 minutes or less at room temperature for immediate soldering capability. It leaves a dense coating, and it contains no co-deposited organics for strong resistance to oxidation. Liquid Tim can be readily soldered, has a long shelf life, and does not require mixing or diluting. Residues can be rinsed away with warm water for easy cleanup. Liquid Tin will cover 3600 square inches of board per half liter of solution, and it is Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) compliant. This solution is strongly acidic; protective gloves, clothing, and eye protection must be worn.
MG Chemicals manufactures chemical products for the electronics industry. The company, founded in 1955 and headquartered in Surrey, BC, Canada, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard 9001.
Works perfectly and as others have mentioned, it doesn’t take the 5 minutes the bottle suggests but more like 10-20 seconds. It also seems to plate fairly deep which surprised me for the little time I left the board in there. It does smell a bit like rotten eggs but the smell was not strong enough to bother me.
This material was easy to use and worked as described. You can use one bottle for several good sized boards (depending on how much copper is left). It won’t fix problem areas where the copper is removed but it does make a nice looking, smooth surface for soldering. It is a bit expensive and don’t spill it - it will take the color out of clothing and carper.
Fast working, and works at room temperature in just a couple minutes. For best results, go over your board with some scotchbrite or sandpaper. Once you rinse off the board the end result is an even dull tin finish. You won’t be able to scratch it with a fingernail, but a sharp object with light pressure can scratch it. I bought it to dip my Radio Shack brand prototype boards since I have enough to last a few years now. :)
Works just as the bottle directions state. Pour the liquid in a container, insert the clean PCB, swish around a little while waiting 3-5 minutes, rinse off with warm water, dry and DONE… The PCB looks great.
This is just what I’ve been looking for! It’s clean, no mixing, or electroplating, or anything, Just submerge your clean pcb and bam instant tin plating, well almost instant. It is even in appearance and oh so shiny and perfect to solder on. Spend the extra, it’s worth it.
Good value item
Pricey, but did a great job on some circuit boards.
With a clean board this worked like magic. I put a very clean board in a small tank and gently agitated it for a few minutes. In another review the guy said you could return the solution to the bottle. I hope he is right. I did but I have not used it a second time yet.
I was taught if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all .
as described.
This is the best way to tin your bare copper circuit boards. Works as advertised and coats well.
Arrived on time and was easy to use for a project.
I have not used it yet. I will update this review when I do. but when I read the instructions it became clear that this is very highly toxic and probably not well suited for…
functional, did he trick, speedy delivery
Works as expected
This stuff works great on copper boards.
comments powered by DisqusIt works but I don’t think I will bother to buy more.It does plate the copper but:1) the copper has to be cleaned really well; whereas flux and solder do not…
