Do you need this? Yes, if you have pets

I have been very happy with my Miele “Carina” (3000 series) vacuum for years: powerful suction, HEPA- upgradeable, not too loud and very versatile. I never had any problems getting my apartment clean very quickly with that basic setup, and I think for most people it stops there. If you don’t have a specific problem (like pets), chances are you won’t need this extra attachment.But in my case, things changed when we got a Persian cat. The carpets would all of a sudden completely refuse to get clean! Worse even, after a few swipes, the hair ended up being arranged into thick threads that then stubbornly stuck to the carpet, requiring me to disconnect the floor tool, and take in the thing with the hose. What it came down to is, I spent 15 minutes per carpet and not really getting it clean - very frustrating.Cue this product, which helped tremendously! You have to move rather slowly on the carpet to let the brushes do their work, and sometimes lift it up so that the brushes can spin up again. It’s still not completely effortless, but it does get the carpets very clean within reasonable time. It’s quite a sanity- safer.The reason I’m withholding one star is because there is no way to turn off the brushes. They’re always on, and making quite a ruckus on hardwood floor. Suction is permanently reduced as well, and the fast/slow switch works by opening a hole on the top, making things even worse. Because of all this, I find myself switching floor tools. It would be so much nicer if Miele had found a way to stop the brushes without reducing suction.Another small negative (but not enough to downgrade my opinion of it) is that it doesn’t come apart easily for cleaning. One has to unscrew two plastic screws and even then the brush stays in. By comparison, the brush on my Roomba comes out completely with just a yank.

Does what it says. Great for area rugs and pet hair removal

I have all laminate floors except for one area rug under my grand piano. I bought a Miele Alize that came with a combo floor tool. I thought it would work for that one rug. Nope, didn’t do anything. Read a review where this was perfect for area rugs and especially for removing pet hair. So, I ordered it. Works like a charm on that rug. So glad I ordered this. It is amazing how it works on just air without a belt like a regular vacuum cleaner uses.

A Miele Must-Have

If you have a Miele and carpeted stairs this will be your savior! We had been running the Miele on the hardwood/vinyl/tile portions of the house and an upright on the carpeted areas, but now I can use the Miele for most everything. It does NOT give as “deep” of a clean on the carpet as an upright, but it’s great for picking up rogue pet hair and debris and fantastic for the stairs. It makes it so much easier than using the handheld wand on the upright.

Miele remains unsurpassed, but long shipping time.

Love all things Miele except the time it took to get here. I ordered around Dec 28 and got it a month later. However, I am still giving it 5 stars as I was warned that it might take that long, but often receive items well before the final possible date promised. Not so with this. Works like a charm though and fits my older model Miele, which is just great. And, yes, I would buy again.

Does what it should do

It works well on getting up my hair out of my large area rugs. I’m sure I will end up having to cut some of it out of the brush eventually, but that was also true with my old upright on occasion.Four stars instead of five because Miele really should include this with the vacuum, not force us to spend $100 on something that should be standard equipment.

At first I was not happy. But upon further investigation I needed to change the bag. It works great, if you don’t have suction or brush dies not move, check your bag, even if the red is not showing.

Not the best quality for Miele

Starting to have some issues already…. Not the best quality for Miele. It’s gone down in quality a little for a larger market to maintain a higher profitability to help expand the mass market products. They are looking to be a more common home name and this is not delivering well into the new builds.

Only a fast rolling brush

Very disappointing after have a Kenmore Power Mate for many years. This is just a fast brush without any additional suction.

Shipped fast and works perfectly so happy. Great price so if you’re looking around and aren’t sure whether to purchase or not I say go for it .

Good replacement for older Miele power head

I have a much older Miele Red Star and the handle was damaged. I was unable to replace it so there was no way to plug the power head in.

Good for carpet cleaning and floors too! But for carpets mostly!

Works with no electrical. It uses the vacuums suction power to motorize the brush for easy carpet cleaning! Love it!

Great replacement

Exactly like the original, but cheaper than buying from a vac shop. This does a wonderful job on short and med pile rugs.
