BATTERY BOX ADDITIONS

NICE BATTERY BOX AND ALL THE ADD ONS I DID TO IT.. LIKE FISH FINDER & A SOLAR PANEL TO THE BOX AND HAVE A 29 DEEP CYCLE BATTERY FROM WALMART IT FITS IN THIS BOX..

Nice, well made product with one caveat.

Nice, well made product with one caveat. Make sure it wii work properly with your battery configuration. Took a marine combination starting/deep cycle battery out of our boat to use with this case for a trolling motor on our kayak. With the pole configuration on that battery the lead pole (not the wing nut one) hits the plastic shield under the lid. I was up against the wall time wise as we were leaving the next morning so I drilled a hole in the shield and wrapped the battery pole in electrical tape as otherwise it might hit the wiring in the lid. I also had to put rubber foam alongside the battery to shove it to one side in the case. It seems there are two different configurations of the poles on marine batteries so just make sure yours will work before buying.

Works well

Nice! Works perfectly for my needs (remote power for astronomy gear). Would have got 5 stars but for the price. A little steep for what it is and how it’s constructed - a hinged, latching lid would have been nice. But it has the two accessory plugs and a built in power meter - which is exactly what i needed.

Tester stopped working in less than 6 months

I really like this case, but after less than 6 months the tester stopped working. This was the deciding factor in my purchase. I can’t tell if my battery is full, half, or dead, which is a problem when using it to determine the amount of power left on my battery for a trolling motor.

Good Performer

AWESOME! Love the test button which tells you how much power remains and terminal hookups are perfect. Mounted a AC converter to the side and it works like a charm. Only negative I have found is that the top carry handle is to weak to support a full size car battery and AC converter but it does have handle slots on the side that does the job quite well. Highly recommend

Nifty little case, not 100% necessary, but nifty

This battery container is great! No need to run an inline circuit breaker or fuse. It has a 10 amp fuse for the 2 accessory ports, which take car lighter type connections, and then a 60 amp fuse for the main terminals which run to your trolling motor - this is Minn Kota reccomended overload protection.I purchased a 27 series battery from Wal-Mart and it dropped right in and wired right up. There is no need to reopen the case unless you are swapping out the battery. The external terminal posts are sized correctly for the stock Minn Kota motor wires, so no need to buy clips or rings to terminate the motor cables to the battery/case. Battery charger clips right on to the external posts. Btw, use the 5amp slow charge setting for marine deep cycle batteries and charge them later that night when you get home, if you want your battery to last.Worth the $50-60!

But I got it and is working fine. Again

This is ok, but not a real bargain. If I have to buy it again, I will think about it. The tester is not reliable at all and it does’t make it easier to carry the battery, it just add 10 pounds more. Now, if I do this agaib, I will spend the money in another battery instead of this power center. But I got it and is working fine. Again, not a big deal.

Very Good Battery Bx

I have a older 70 LB (freighter) Navarro canoe. Being 60+ I am getting to old to paddle back sometimes from the “other side” of the lakes up here in Oregon. I mounted a MinnKota trolling motor on the rear of my canoe, and so had to get a Deep Cycle Marine battery to power the trolling motor. I purchased a Interstate Group 27 size battery and it fit perfect! The first time out, using this set up we had to fight swells on Elk Lake, which we had avoided because of afternoon wind swells. We cruised around for almost three hours and I was worried that I was running out of battery. Pushed the battery monitor button and it showed that we still had plenty of power left. This battery box is well built. Very thick case. Great carrying handle on top. The “How much juice is left in the battery meter” alone is worth the extra money compared to your average battery box. I run my fish finder out of one of the accessory outlets. I used velcro strips on the bottom to keep it from sliding around, and placed it behind the center seat which is not used most of the time. I think Minnkota products are excellent and well thought out.

The lights for showing charge don’t work properly. They …

The lights for showing charge don’t work properly. They show 1/3rd full charge but when I hook it to the charger it shows 95% full.

Four Stars

Works

Great product.

Great product….terminal screw and lock area needs to be more sturdy, putting plastic around metal nut to hold it in place was stupid and cheap…come on MINNKOTA!

Five Stars

Works great

The only way it ties down is with a strap which EASILY loosens enough to let water into the box

Maybe I wrongly assumed that this would latch and be waterproof but it isn’t. The only way it ties down is with a strap which EASILY loosens enough to let water into the box.

Five Stars

Do not buy generic boxes, this one for a few extra dollars in the cream of the crop!!!

Sexy battery holder

Holds my marine battery and looks sexy while doing so

Ruined my battery

Battery terminals were touching the lid. It started smoking and burned out my battery.

Three Stars

light to show how much battery is charged, shorted out with in a week !

Corroded terminals and overheating breaker

I would not recommend this battery box for a higher thrust trolling motor. My 55 lb Minn Kota Traxxis pulls 50 amps at full throttle.
