This adapter has TS (Tip-Sleeve) connectors with two contact points while a headphone/mic device requires TRRS (Tip-Ring-Ring-Sleeve) connectors with four contact points
Package Quantity:1 Do you have a device with a 3. 5mm plug that won’t fit into your other device with a 2. 5mm jack such as a pair of standard headphones and a new smartphone? If so you need this adapter from Monoprice! This adapter has a mono 3. 5 mm female TS jack and a mono 2. 5 mm male TS plug. Note that this is a mono adapter. If you need this for a stereo audio application such as listening to music on your smartphone with your standard headphones/earbuds you should get the stereo version PID 7124 instead.
fell apart after a week
Bought these to use with my harmony hub. I already had IR blasters that used the 3.5mm plug from another device…so I used these to convert those cables down to the logitech harmony size. Plugged them in and everything works as expected!
The people who complain about this jack, don’t know jack. Please see my uploaded photos for clarification. When I see people whining and complaining about really good products, it really gets under my skin. The reason why I felt compelled to start posting accurate and factual reviews about good items and good experiences. For Xbox users, this adapter will most likely not work with your application. Please read further for advice. For normal uses and common audio applications, this will work without any problems if you match your components properly.Common things to look for and know when matching audio components like these are…Tip, Ring and Barrel or Sleeve. Analog or Digital. Sticking with the basics for this application you can’t go wrong.See the tiny black strip on the metal shaft? That is important. Mono has 1 or 2 while Stereo has 2-3. Left, Right, Ground and Mic.In most cases they are backwards compatible, but not always.Xbox uses a mini-jack mono plug, but since it has 2 rings, it can be confused with a stereo jack. Also, it’s a 2.5 mm (3⁄32”) not a 3.5 mm (1⁄8”).One ring is used for listening and the other for voice. It is mono but with a microphone design. Left and Voice. Please research for more detail. But overall, if you can see my photos, it’s broken down visually to get a better understanding.Connected to my laptop you can see the audio level is spiking and reading the audio clearly. Matched with a Cobra M29 BT EXT Microphone.Overall from my experience alone, this jack works flawlessly and is an excellent deal for the price.I did purchase the wrong jack but kept it, so you can see this same review for the other. Not much of a difference. 3.5 to 2.5 instead of 2.5 to 3.5.Hope this helps someone.
This does exactly what it says. It allows you to plug in something with a 3.5 mm plug (male) into something else with a 2.5 mm jack (female). This adapter has a 2.5 mm plug and a 3.5 mm jack. This is a mono connection, so it won’t work with your stereo headphones. It probably won’t do whatever you want it to do with your cellphone. If you know what you need, and this is the adapter you need, then this Monoprice adapter will work for you.
No it is not a 2.5 to a 3.5 it is a 2.5 to a2.5 won’t fit on my cell phonePiece of junk I am tossing it
I have to unplug and plug back in every week or so. The 3.5mm or 2.5mm sides tend to work themselves out over time. This is not installed in an environment with excessive vibration. I have this in a cabinet with A/V equipment in a house.
I bought this to use my Neewer tt850 flash with Pocket Wizards or any other radio trigger that can’t plug into the 2.5mm jack on the Neewer flashes—like, the majority of them out there. Anyway, through trial and tribulation I finally found this adapter that actually worked and am much happier now. If you’re not a photographer this probably means nothing to you so I will simply add that construction and quality seem just fine and of course Amazon Prime had it on my doorstep muy rapido.
Bought two of these. Both cut in and out with the slightest bump. Replaced them with adapters from another manufacturer, and everything was fine.
just as expected! works great with harmony hub
Works as described.
ok
Had to replace within 2 weeks
Used with a 3way split so it could plug into the Logitech Harmony Hub.
Female end provided a very loose connection to a 3.5mm plug inserted into it. Connection achieved only if wire plugged into the adapter dangled down so that weight of wire…
Works great for Harmony One Hub.
Base is too large and won’t allow it to fit tight against my phone. Won’t work.
Works as expected
