    Product Description

The Monroe Reflex truck shock absorber with the patented ASD Technology combines specially tuned valving with a Fluon banded piston. The ASD valve has the ability to sense acceleration to improve the handling, safety, and overall ride characteristics of sport-utility vehicles, mini-vans and light trucks. The ASD base valve will sense a bump in the road and automatically adjust the shock to absorb the impact, leaving the shock with greater control when it is needed. The features of the Monroe Reflex truck shock absorber make it the superior shock for improved handling, safety, and comfort in all road conditions.

Replaced front shocks on Excursion - very happy with these

After I purchased my 2002 Excursion, I just accepted that the truck rode rough and that was to be expected when driving a medium-duty truck but then I went over my first speed bump and the front end bottomed out. After reading several forums, I found that the front leaf spring rate was not adequate for the weight of the 7.3L Powerstroke so I decided to replace the springs with a set from a 99-05 F250/350 (found a set of V- codes on Craigslist for $50) and replacing the shocks was worth a shot. It was such an incredible difference! I am now pleased with the ride and riders often comment on just how much smoother the ride is than they were expecting from such a large rig.If you are like me, you are debating on these or Bilsteins for replacing your current shocks. For a third of the cost, you get a great on-road feel and I am happy with my choice. 90% of my driving is on-road and I have only had brief stints off-road so far but still have no issues with these shocks. If your driving takes you off road much more often, it may very well make sense to go with the Bilsteins but I am more than satisfied with these.Note that these shocks are the ones you need for your Excursion only if you are planning on replacing the front leaf springs which raise the front end up 2-3”. You will need the extra travel on the front shocks only. The Monroe 911176 Reflex for the rear are fine (even if you do matching B- code leaf springs for the rear) as they can accept several more inches of travel.

Better than OEM

Direct fit. Better than OEM by far. Nice ride in my F240 SuperDuty 4X4. Went Reflex for both front and back. Remember to buy 2each - price listed on Amazon is for 1. I didn’t read carefully. Never occurred to me that they would sell as a single item. I’ll be more careful next time.

… shocks in my 2000 F-250 Diesel these were much better than the OEM shocks

Had older shocks in my 2000 F-250 Diesel these were much better than the OEM shocks. Happy to have found these on Amazon ride is still Stock which is what I wanted and great shocks.

Monroe is still high quality.

The shocks fit perfectly and the ride is smooth.

Not 34 ton worthy

Bought these May 2015 and installed on a 2001 F250. The ride was improved over the blown stock shocks. About 9 months later I noticed the truck bouncing a bit more.
