Yes indeed! We adore this scope!

We have a 5 and 3 year old and they have fallen in love with this. There are some slides included and you can purchase more-but the most fun we have had is just putting things we find around nature under the scope! We found a dead bee and put it under and who knew their hairs were yellow?!? My kids are obsessed with finding things to put under the scope and it’s easy for both of them to use. Not only that, but as kids do-it’s been dropped several times but no problem as this scope is made for kids and appears durable! It has 3 different strengths of zoom and a light to be able to see well. It’s not probably the best quality in the world, but for the price this is really a steal. Many toys are one trick ponies but this one fosters learning and can be used over and over again. Love it!

My First Lab Mini Duo Scope Toy, Blue GreenDon’t be put off by the plastic design or the low price, the “My First Lab Mini Duo Scope” is an excellent “first” microscope for kids and can even be fun for older children and adults (if they’ll overlook the toy-like appearance). In fact, let me get right to it – this is an incredible bargain and Amazon currently has the lowest price I could find anywhere ($24.99).This thing is solid, very well designed, and most importantly, it works very well with a clear image and many nice features. Dual lighting (above and below the stage), and good lenses (a first, in my experience, for plastic lenses). The unit is very light and easy to carry around (you’ll need to find your own case, though, as none is included, but that’s OK with me at this low price).I love that this thing looks like a real microscope. Back when I was a kid, I got a first “student” microscope that was of very good quality and I had years and years of fun with it and feel that it helped spark my interest in nature, science, and the fascinating world around us. This scope may do the same for your young, budding scientist.The microscope is easy to use and has good lighting, much better than many others I’ve seen. I also found this one much easier to focus than some. Again, the image is sharp and clear and a delight at this very low price. It comes with some accessories and a few prepared slides, but I would advise purchasing a small set of good prepared slides so your young one has a better variety of interesting things to look at right away (kids are often impatient as we know). it’s a fantastic microscope for starters

I bought this microscope as a xmas gift for my son, it’s a fantastic microscope for starters, and they are perfect for young kids who are interested in the micro world. The microscope and the accessories are plastic and there are A LOT of accessories, for young kids, this is good as they are not easily breakable. Don’t be fooled by it’s price tag, the optical is impressive, as I was surprised to see that it offers 3 levels of magnification. The images are also pretty clear. Overall it’s a great buy.

We won at birthday with this gift

We bought this along with some extra slides (we got the creepy crawlies set) for my nephew’s 7th birthday. When he opened the box he screamed, “OH MY GOSH, IT’S SCIENCE!” That’s how we knew the present was a winner. He made us take batteries out of the television remotes so he could try it at the party. That’s right, a seven year old boy passed up swimming and cupcakes and water balloons to look through this microscope. I can’t blame him though. The adults at the party thought it was pretty cool as well. This product is definitely geared more toward children than some of the other My First Lab microscopes, and the price and color reflect that. That said, I feel like my nephew will get a lot of enjoyment out of it. It doesn’t seem “dinky” or childish at all. We also like that it came with a number of accessories (extra slides, experiments, et cetera) that we really didn’t even know we’d be getting.

Amazing for a toy.

It’s an amazing product. Although it was made from plastic, it was surprisingly sturdy. It also focuses clearly and you can see a specimens cell structure clearly (and as long as you know how to prepare a slide). My son and I really liked it and it expanded his interest in Science further more.

Not as expected

This scope got some good reviews, so I thought it was just what I wanted. However, my husband and I had trouble getting this adjusted where we could see anything.
