Not for Phantom or flying, read on!

I got this protective lens for my GoPro 3 black, after reading the reviews decided to order it to protect my lens from damage and scratches.My GP3 is primarily use on my Phantom 2 with a H3-3D gimbal.The bad:The first thing I noticed right away was that my shots from pics and video are more obscure even on good lighting conditions, probably about two steps down, the biggest and more annoying issue is when shooting wide pics or video, you will get an “black halo” on the right side from the protective lens (see picture). One more issue that I never had before was “jello” on the video, on the same day of flying under same conditions (snow day) I removed the protective lens and the the “jello” effect was gone!On 4K the “jello effect” is far worst.Also, the lens need to be attached after you secure the GoPro3 to the gimbal or is impossible to secure it with the bracket, not a big issue but is there.The Good:On very sunny days the two steps down are also on the positive side, the protective lens work more like a polarized filter.Final words:The protective lens may work in a different application, but for flying on you Phantom is not a good choice.

160mph and it’s still there!!

I love these!! It allows me to proctect the lense while using the Skelton housing thus saving weight and drag on the helmet. I think everyone should use these if you take your GoPro out of the waterproof housing to record. It’s basically insurance for your GoPro. I’ve went very fast and the lense cover is still there. You can even see a couple bugs that hit the cover instead of the lens!! Make sure to take the lens off correctly and evenly if not it may take the rubber off of the GoPro. I’ll be buying these again if I break the ones I have.

Saved my GoPro lenses so many times

I don’t know how many times these have saved my GoPro lens, but they’ve certainly paid for themselves many times over. :) I use them with a Hovership Hero3 case on my FPV quads and they work perfectly.

OK….AWESOME PRODUCT!! I took my go pro to Colorado with me and wanted to be able to shoot and pick up any audio the gopro would get naturally for just some nat sounds. While using my gopro with the Neewer Lens Protector on it, the lens rubbed up against my ring and scratched it. So glad I bought a few of these!! This is much cheaper than having the actually lens replaced, trust me!

perfect for anyone who like to utilize their GoPro naked or with a skeleton case (to better utilize the on board mic or inputs). This holds very well to the camera body, no worries about it falling off. The only issue is when I have my shark case on to put the camera on a tripod, this protector does not fit squarely because the case gets in the way. While it doesn’t affect the protector’s hold (it still doesn’t fall off), if you have the camera set for wide, you may see some of the protector in frame on the fringes of your shot. Set to medium view, this is not an issue.

Great lens.

Great lens. Tight fit, well made, the wide setting on the GoPro does not detect it (shadows). Very pleased. Used one to make a macro lens for the GoPro. Worked perfectly.

Good protection for my Gopro lens!

I’ve read some reviews that this one is poor quality and whenever they use the wide angle, it can see the black part on the side. However, mine came as what it says. It’s pretty snug but easy to remove from the lens too! I thought it’s only one lens but it’s two. Worth the money I paid! Thumbs up! :)

My have for any action sport or FPV flying

Perfect for protecting your GoPro lens from any type of scratches or damage this lens will break and failed before your GoPro lens meaning that if you have a crash this will probably break but your GoPro lens will be fine this is easily replaceable unlike the lens itself on the go pro. This also allows you to use the skeleton style housing which provides greater audio quality I use this for riding dirt bikes and when paired with the skeleton frame housing I have all the protection as a regular normal housing but also get great sound quality

If you’re looking to buy this, then there isn’t much to say. It’s a lens cover. It works. It doesn’t distort. It wont fall apart. Buy it and move on with your life. I did.
