Final Update: I no longer have the t4i and have had the Canon 80D for a while now and this flash still works. I also uploaded a photo showing some of the power it can deliver.. the tunnel shot was completely black.. this photo I use one step down from full power and had the flash angled a little higher.. I can’t find the photo I took of the full power shot with the direction straight down the tunnel but this still gives the idea of what it can do. I just took it to see if I could reach down the tunnel.UPDATE: I have had this long enough to do a lot of messing with it. The photo I uploaded was using this Speedlite Flash. I think it came out great. Also attached is a photo of it attached to my Canon t4i (650d). Also, it has 2 slave modes and comes with a stand so you can use it as filler light from the side or wherever. I have verified that it fires off quick and works exactly as it should as a slaveI have seen people say that you need high end flashes etc.. While I do not consider myself a “Professional” photographer, I have found that so far this has been great. Fits on my Canon t4i (650D) and I prefer manual so this is what I need. I can’t justify spending $200-$300 for an External Flash.. This does what I need and does it well for the price.
I have not used the flash much yet. I think the product is fine quality. The real downfall of this product is that the instruction manual was clearly written by a non-native English speaker. So, prepare to be mystified when you read the instructions, especially if this if your first flash.
Im currently studying photography and I know it is essential to use a speed light instead of the built in flash to achieve a proper light exposure. I’m greatly happy and thrilled to have this Neewer speedlite. I watched a lot of reviews on YouTube from professional photographers and they did mention low cost speed light for beginners and this brand is included. I’m very happy with this product and It works wonders on the photos I shoot and gives it proper lighting.
For a budget flash you can’t go wrong. Fits nicely in my Nikon D7000, looks good and puts out good amount of light. Manual controls to adjust it and sturdy swivel to bounce off walls and ceilings. The beeping sound it makes is annoying but you can turn that off. Doesn’t recycle as fast as an expensive Nikon or Canon brand flashes but it’s a minor inconvenience. It’s great for someone new to using flashes and off camera lighting and buying 3 or 4 is still more than half the price of a Nikon/Canon flash
I could have spent a lot more money on another speedlight, but needing to save money, I did a bit of research and found that Neewer has a good reputation, and the reviews for this particular flash are very good. Since receiving it, I’m very pleased to have acquired such a decent quality flash at such a great price.Neewer NW-561 LCD Display Speedlite Flash for All DSLR Cameras with Standard Hot Shoe
I almost gave this flash 4 stars, but, after thinking about, it’s a five star item for the price.I’m a professional photographer who mainly shoots editorial work and events. I have several Canon flashes, a Yongnuo 560 II, and, now, this Neewer unit. Of all the flashes I own, this Neewer NW-561 is the less well-built of them all, but for such a low price, I don’t think anyone could expect much different. It’s not “cheap” per se, but it’s not built like a rock-solid, flagship speedlite either.Pros:- Price- Ease of use- Power (seems to be at least 1⁄2 a stop brighter than my other flashes)- Built in slave (a must-have feature these days)- Large, bright display- Comes with a white “dome” diffusor (I leave this thing on the flash virtually at all times)Cons:- No zoom option- Somewhat flimsy buildFor the price, this flash simply can’t be beat. Right now with Prime it’s $39.99. I think even the latest Yongnuo is $70. I’d get two of these rather than one Yongnuo.(The attached photo I shot with this flash through a soft box.)
This is truly a “great bang for your buck”. I just used one as an auxiliary flash during an event this past weekend and it worked flawlessly. I am planning on buying a couple more.Remember to buy some rechargeable batteries with this. You won’t regret the flash nor the batteries.
It isn’t TTL, so if you’re looking for that, get a better flash. Also, it doesn’t zoom. It is a pretty basic flash, but I’ve not had any problems with them at all. Great addition to my studio.
Let me start by saying this I am a huge supporter of neewer products. In situations occurred to the point where I needed to buy a Speedlight so the first thing I did was look up…
I bought 2 of these, one stopped working after 15 min.
Works great
I highly recommend this, I’m a beginner and self taught and after reading instructions and getting a good grasp of the function it’s a piece of cake.

Complicated settings… haven’t been able use or figure it out!
Good value for the money spent
There seriously needs to be a no star option. Straight garbage. I have a brand new 80D and could not get this thing to respond. You get what you pay for, I guess.
Trying to dispute for a return. Didn’t receive the cable that goes with it.
