This is a review of the Nilight NIL101 Car Charger 12’ Heavy Duty Extension Cord. 12/24V.(Cable is 12’ long and weighs 10.4oz.)Summary – I was looking for a cord to give me more flexibility in using emergency lights and my portable air compressor. This is doing what I need and works well for what I am using it for. (No fuse was acceptable as this is plugged into both a fused outlet and a fused device.)ProsThis cable is thick as you see in the image. It feels very strong and the endings are a good size. The female socket is snug for my device cords and the male end has a good tension which keeps the cord from falling out unless you specifically do so.ConsWhen I removed the end of the plug, there is no fuse and the wires are smaller than I anticipated.This is rated up to 200watts which has a maximum amperage of approx. 16.66amps. From a quick check online, the proper gauge is approximately 12AWG for the specs of this cable. (12 foot by 200watts at 12V DC.) There is nothing in the listing or written on the cable – case to indicate wire size, however, I am positive it is not a 12 AWG.So final rating is 3 out of 5. One star lost for what appears to be insufficient wire size inside and one star off for lack of a fuse.As with all my reviews, I will update this review should it develops issues with ongoing use.
Not fused
This is a very substantial cable. I can’t tell the wire gauge, but the cable is overall 1⁄4 inch thick!It apparently isn’t fused but claims to handle 200W which is over 15A at 12V. Unfortunately neither end can be (non-destructively) disassembled so I cannot verify the quality of its electrical connections, but it has the look and feel of very good quality.
RATING INCORRECT. It is actually only 180 Watts (15amps @ 12v)
Let me firs t say the description has a pretty big error. It says it is rated for 30amps, but it isn’t. Not only is hte wire size not capable of this but the package itself says it’s for up to 180 watts. This is just 15 amps at 12v and 7.5 at 24v. No where near the rating of 30A mentioned in the description.This is my biggest beef with this item. It seems decently made, and will still work for me, but my load is 8 amps and I was hoping for some head room.

Worked perfectly for me needs. Needed some extra length to inflate my RV tires (parked at a storage lot and couldn’t get any closer) and was able to inflate all 4 with no problems. Was the only one I could find with a higher amp so was very happy to find.
Works like a charm!
I was able to run 3 of these in a line and blow up our inflatable mattress while camping where the spot to park was many feet away from where the tent would be set up.Highly recommended if you need to use the cigarette lighter in the car for something and you can’t move your car to the object needing the electricity.
Good cable
I would not call this heavy duty, but it is decent quality. I actually bought a second one a few days after receiving the first one, so obviously I do recommend it.The length is true, and you get what is in the picture. Note, there is not a fuse in the male or female side. This is in an extension cord. If you need it fused, this product will not work for you.The cable is very flexible, and should last with reasonable use. I would not use this with anything above about a 10 amp draw, though it may be rated higher. My use is for loads in the 1-5 amp range.I did buy another, and I would buy more if needed.
Power anywhere around the car
I needed to power my dashcam in a clean, unobstructive manner routing around the front and side of the car. For powering a relatively low power device and length of 14 ft in a sedan is a bit overkill as I realized I had so much slack leftover. 10 ft would have sufficed but the price was good over the 6 ft models the justify the length. I kept an air pump in the trunk so the cable could be used in emergencies.

Bought this for my wife who delivers mail. This servers as the weak point in the setup for her more pricey amber light that we can’t afford to replace all of the time due to damaged cords. We recommend combining this product with the amber light High Intensity 12W LED Emergency Vehicle Beacon Warning Light ( OTHER COLOR AVAILABLE ) - AMBERWe had purchased other models before and had them come apart at the connections/solder points after only a couple of months of use. This one has been running strong for quite a while now, longer than the others at least. The connections also feel superior to the others.

Wow! The red one was 1⁄3 the price of the black one - This is a great cable….the plug is a little tight, so you need to be careful unplugging it. Thick and heavy-Duty though!
