Cool Your Jets!
I bought this same fan over a year ago and it has been a workhorse for me cooling my laptop’s CPU and GPU. When my computer was under a heavy load, it would overheat and shut itself off several times a day. Under idle conditions, the GPU ran hotter than considered safe (>60 degrees C). With a video card (GPU) Stress Test, halfway through the test the GPU temperature would soar till it exceeded 100 degrees C (212 degrees F) at which point the computer would shut down to prevent the GPU from burning up.Because I want to avoid heat damage to any of my laptop components, I bought an AmazonBasics Ventilated Adjustable Laptop Stand to improve airflow, raised the stand to a 40 degree angle (which provides an excellent typing angle for the keyboard and brings the screen up to eye level–all of which improves posture and relieves neck and back strain), placed this fan behind the laptop, plugged the fan into a USB port and switched the fan to On. Now when I turn my laptop on the fan comes on and cools the underside of the laptop during use. Shutting the laptop down also turns the fan off. This has helped keep my laptop GPU and CPU below 60 degrees C most of the time which I expect will prolong their useful lifetime.In addition to the above, this fan is light and folds compactly and flat onto itself. The five blade fan with its unique blade design enables brisk delivery of airflow with a minimum of fan noise. The cable provided plugs in to the fan with an adapter that’s similar to a typical audio plug; the other end plugs in to a USB port or into an AC adapter that plugs into the wall to utilize line current to run the fan. I would only change two things about this fan: it currently is only a one speed fan, I would like to see a continuously variable switch so that you could select the exact fan speed you want for each occasion; the second thing I would change is the audio-jack-like plug to connect the cable to the fan; if it had a mini or micro-USB connector instead of the audio-jack, the cable could be more easily replaced if needed.

comments powered by DisqusPerfect for what I needed. I wanted a fan small enough to fit in my bathroom while I get ready in the morning on hot days. This is a small, but effective electric fan that actually cools me down and is pretty quiet. It’s also adjustable to direct the air where you want it to go. Would definitely recommend.
