Product Description

This is a kit for a pan/tilt mechanism designed specifically for Pixy CMUcam5. It includes two laser-cut acrylic pieces for the base, two servos for the pan and tilt axes, and all the mounting hardware and cable ties you need to assemble. Assembly instructions are located on our wiki.

Awesome tool!

The team at Charmed Labs have developed and made available an excellent product and tool with the Pixy (CMUcam5) camera sensor and the pan/tilt servo motor kit. Their after-sale support (not that it required much; just a few clarifying questions) has been excellent and very responsive!The pan/tilt servo motor kit worked as expected, tracking and following whatever object (color signature) it was programmed to track. The pan/tilt kit was very responsive and the software tool utility allows for even further response tuning, if needed (I did not need to do so with my current project). The kit does require some mechanical assembly and the instructions are straightforward.READ MORE

Good product with good costumer service

Came in on time. Good costumer service. If you have any problems with the product, let them know and they’ll help you. Though, this camera categorizes objects by its color. If your objective is to recognize object, it would be difficult specially if the color of the object you’re trying to recognize are dark colors (example: black, grey, etc.).READ MORE

Do not buy.

Do not buy this. Numerous design flaws will have you wondering if there is something wrong with your code. And the instructions are even worse. There is a part in the instructions where they say to wrench the horn on your servo back and forth to find the center and - don’t worry you won’t break it. Yes you will break those little plastic gears don’t do it. And just look at that servo linkage in the picture, ready to get snagged on those wires. And the wire placement. The base doesn’t stay put. And the weight of the whole thing is on one of the servos, which means this really gets wonky when you put it on a vehicle. But it fits the pixy without modification, so that is the one star I guess.READ MORE
