Firmware issues?

For starters, no 6 ft’ HMDI cable was in the box when I tried it out. No problem, I go buy one. When it was done and hooked up, I play region A dvd and a blu ray after that, worked great. Optimist that I am, I try my Region B blu rays and dvds. Worked fine when you hit the 2 button and play. Great right? Until you update the firmware, that is. Couldn’t get anything but Region A blu rays and dvds to play after that. Otherwise, it was OK.

I love movies, and sometimes it’s hard to find a …

I love movies, and sometimes it’s hard to find a good DVD release in my Region. A case in point is my copy of “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead,” which I could only find as a Region 4 disc, or my “Smack the Pony” which is Region 2. It’s always been a pain to come up with some way to play these, and now I have a player that simply WORKS! Delightful!

Not as advertised, 2016 player is super region restricted only plays Region A and Region 1 discs

Does work, but the firmware is a little flaky and now it wants to update so I can’t use Netflix etc because I fear the update will wipe out region-free capability..

Finally, the Wifi works after several firmware updates

Finally working correctly. After doing some negative reviews of firmware version 1.64, and contacting Panasonic Support multiple times, they got the message and rolled out yet…
