Rugged, Dependable, Reliable, Easy to Set up, and To Fly.

The package came with a tear on the package and dust all over the products inside the box. They could have done better packing the merchandise at the Chinese factory where they made the Parrot products. However, the Parrot Bebop2 and the Black Edition Skycontroller worked like a charm. I find the negative comments, blogs, U Tube uploads etc. about Parrot Bebop flyaways and crashes as unfounded. If these things existed, they were all the faults of the pilots and lack of knowledge, ignorance, and of poor skills or carelessness.I have flown the Parrot Bebop 2 with the Black Edition Skycontroller many times, and I have no problems with my Bebop 2. This is the latest flight posted on U-Tube.[…]I also highly recommend the in app purchase of the Flight Plan for $20.00. This is because you lose WiFi signal very quickly in urban areas, even with the Skycontroller. With loss of signal, you cannot command the Bebop 2 to return home. Unlike the DJI drones, the Parrot Bebop drone is programmed to hover in place until it exhausts its battery at which time it will land exactly in the same coordinate position where it hovers. With loss of WiFi signal, you cannot command it to return home nor do you know where it lands. Such things don’t happen in a DJI (unique) Fail Safe RTH feature. This is something that Yuneec and Parrot need to work on for the UAVs.

Very bad quality control but very good drone

I feel like I should write two reviews. As received, in factory sealed box, the unit was very dusty. Other reviewers have mentioned this as well. More importantly, the left control stick was pushed down into the housing. The mounting was broken inside. I’m handy with tools, so I dismantled the sky controller and repaired it rather than go through the hassle of returning it. The box was undamaged, so I have to chalk this broken controller up to amazingly poor quality control and inspection. It shouldn’t be up to the buyer to do inspection and repair. Now for the second part of the review. The Bebop 2 is incredibly easy to fly. I have had great fun with it.

Amazing drone.

First I am new to the drone hobby; however I own a few cheap toy quad-chopters.This drone is amazing in every way. Get it with the sky controller, so much is lost just using a tablet or phone.It’s response is quick and nimble while the gyro corrects novice mistakes allowing for flawless navigation. Simply put; I have no negative thoughts about the drone or controller.I get about 27 minutes on a charged battery. I ordered the spare upgraded battery when I purchased it.The build is solid. Worth every penny.

My impression of the BEBOP 2

At the price that I got it for ($799), I am satisfied with the Bebop2. There are many things going for it including the quality of the combo in general, the software and the fact that the quadcopter unlike my DJI Phantom is small and more easily transportable. One has the option of controlling it with a cellphone or tablet, a plus although that is not optimum. The rather large Skycontoller to me is greatly preferable. The Phantom in comparison is larger and has a more threatening silhouette whereas the Bebop2 is adorable with a benign toy-like appearance. I found Bebop2 to handle precisely and nicely maneuverable with the Skycontroller. ( I wish they had designed the Skycontoller so that it could be folded or have detacheable arms.)My complaint with this otherwise impressive engineering is the overall quality of the video, clearly inferior to the Phantom line. I suppose this hassomething to do with the electronic stabilization, which by the way at least is effective in minimizing the “jello effect” once the props are balanced.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS!!

I wanted this version because it has what looks like a pilot’s flight stick (sky controller 1) instead of the newer version which looks like a Xbox 360 controller.Update BOTH the drone AND skycontroller separately THEN calibrate each one separately.My first flight was without calibration and it was still relatively steady. After calibration it is rock solid does not move until you tell it to.Watch the parrot tutorial videos on yourtube. Some are a slightly outdated but you will get the main idea.If you loose connection it will rise up to 60 feet and fly back and hover about 3 feet over takeoff point. It will be off by about a foot or so.This is very easy and a lot of fun to fly. I am very happy with my purchase. The sky controller is great cause you get about 1.2 miles range. I have not tested that yet.25 minute flight time. This controller used the same battery. fly till your drone battery is about 20% and then swap them. the controller uses a LOT less battery than the drone does. Definitely get a third battery.

Great drone and good combo.

I really like my bebop drone. I think it’s really good looking and the video quality on it is great.On one side, one problem I had was with connectivity but the support was great; they stayed with me for the whole process (about 2 hours) and we managed to solve it completely. I also am not a fan of the controller, it’s ridiculously big and sometimes you even feel ashamed by the amount of attention it gets to you. One of the batteries stopped working and warranty didn’t apply. Another thing to notice is that the case that comes with it is actually for the first generation bebop drone. I managed to sell it and buy the correct one.On the other side, though, it’s very easy to fly and makes for a great first drone. This package includes everything to get started and a complete set of extra propellers. I really like its portability and the quality of the build. Definitely a good company and a great product. I chose this one because I think it has a good balance between sportiness (the looks and the feel, the agility and the speed, and even the range and the options to fly) and photography (sensational video quality and smoothness), and I really thing it accomplished both.I definitely recommend it, but if you have the extra bit, I think i would most definitely buy dji’s mavic pro instead.
