Fabric: 88% Nylon/12% Lycra Elastane
A quality cycling Bib short designed to keep you comfortable, dry and chafe-free so you can enjoy all the time you spend in the saddle.
I have ridden, and still ride, PI shorts for the last five years. This is the first product that I’ve rated so low and simply cannot recommend all because of the chamois. It’s like foam core padding that irritates my skin to the touch.I washed them once and then proceeded on a regular 35 miles ride. In the beginning they really stayed in place. The pourous chammy really gripped my skin. As long as everything stayed in place it was good. Once I started getting out of the saddle things got much worse. If anything shifted around I’d get an immediate discomfort from the coarse material. Ultimately I took a shortcut home and went at a slower pace. I cannot fathom how this product was deemed acceptable.I’d seriously recommend not buying or using this product. Their previous chammois were great and this is a complete 180.
These bib shorts were somewhat small to begin with (both compared to their own sizing chart as well as to other brands). The chamois’s stitching does not extend over the edge of the chamois and as such tends to move around and roll up creating a seam. I wouldn’t recommend these and will not be purchasing PI shorts again.
I have an older pair of Pearl iZUMi bibs that are a size large. The older bibs are a bit larger than the new large. I probably should have went for the XL.The chamois is pretty bad. I’ve never come across one like this. It’s flat and almost felt-like. Doesn’t have a lot of cushion. But I guess that’s what you get for $50.
This was literally my birthday suit. I wore it for a half century ride yesterday. It fits snugly and comfortably well (code for, “better than my other bib shorts”) It’s obvious to see and feel how well-made this is. Time will prove how long-lasting this is. Will be buying another one.
This bib is actually very comfortable to wear. It’s not too expensive and the padding do help relive the pain. If you ride more then 50 mile, you don’t want to cheap out on the bib. I do recommend it.
Great fit and very comfortable. No issues with chafing. I definitely recommend any cyclists who have been riding with “shorts” only to give bib shorts a try – it’s a definite upgrade.
I tried out my bib shorts on a 17 mile ride to my surprise they were very comfortable I was a bit sceptical when the package arrived and I saw the padding in the shorts its a bit on the thin side .I will have to try them out on a 50 mile ride to see if they will exceed my expectations again. However I will update this review after my 50 mile ride .
The chamois is not nearly as good as their Quest shorts. It lacks a lot of pad. For the price, it makes sense that this is a short distance bib. I would not do more than 20 miles
Terrible product not like other versions
fits is nice however, the padding felt very uncomfortable. not my cup of tea i suppose. i ended up going with the Pearl Izumi pursuit bib.
I was a little disappointed in the craftsmanship. Chammi was flat and single stitched.
Just completed the annual Trek Across Maine (180 mile ride) with these. They fit great, didn’t ride up and the padding was perfect.
Cheap padding, definately going to return
