Polaroid Waterproof Shockproof Case for the Polaroid CUBE, CUBE+ HD Action Lifestyle Camera - Connects to All Mounts in CUBE Ser
I used the waterproof case this weekend in the ocean in Aruba. The camera takes amazing video for its size — and the waterproof case was excellent in the water. No leaks, it didn’t steam up, and the picture was very clear.
The case works as advertised and keeps it air tight but I was very disappointed when I leaned I needEd to purchase an additional mount just to keep it steady as the waterproof case doesn’t provide any stability, your left to hold it constantly which is a major pit fall. Great case but come on polaroid you could of at least throw in a baseplate for it to be able to stand on a flat surface
Works perfectly for the cube, and is so easy to use. Used this for some snorkeling, scuba and pool time in Mexico, and not a drop of moisture got in!The very well polished screen scratches easily, so you may wish to get a piece of screen protector for it, or keep it in a soft carrier.
This case has a bit of trouble on two fronts. The first is that the OEM cube mounts seem to lack an adjustable base, you know, so you can change the direction it’s pointing. The second is that the button mechanism is a pain in the butt. I struggled for quite some time to get this thing to work properly, and I still ended up losing a fair amount of underwater reef footage because the waterproof case button didn’t work so well. On the upside, it didn’t leak and what video I did get was fantastic.
Worked great for snorkeling! Easy to see the function light through the clear case. If you are not mounting the cube, i suggest some type of lanyard so it doesn’t drop on the ground or bottom of the ocean.
It is %100 water proof and the picture is super clear. I used it while snorkeling in Mexico and the image looks exactly how I saw it. The sound isn’t as clear but that’s expected. I only wish there was a monopod that could be attached to it since the case alone is super awkward to hold.
Used this in Hawaii while snorkeling in Hanauma Bay and the case itself worked great! Made of a hard plastic, I had no leaks or any problems at all while I used it in the water. Deepest I had the camera down was probably only about three or four feet, so I can’t speak as to how deep you can take this before water seeping in would become a problem. I did not have a snorkel equipped to hook the case onto, so I had to hold it in my hand, which somewhat worried me since a rogue wave or something easily could have knocked this out of my hand and then bye bye camera! But it worked out well and I had easy access to the Record/Stop button. Now if I would only have taken some quality photos or video, but that’s on me, not the equipment. I’ll try and upload what I did take later (I’m doing this review on a computer that I don’t have access to what I took). But the case itself is a good deal and does work well.
This is much better than the rinky-dink connector that comes with the stick-on mount, here: http://www.amazon.com/Polaroid-Tripod-Action-Lifestyle-Camera/dp/B00NXK3JPC/ref=pd_sim_421_3?ie=UTF8&dpID=41QZ9LvleTL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR134%2C160_&refRID=1WRTFQBBE2DGJ7T01ZFZIf you’re a motorcyclist, either buy this thing to use with your mount or risk losing your camera–especially when you take off your helmet, as the tripod mount is almost designed to eject your Cube rather than keep it on.
No obvious difference in clarity, enough said
protects great
I got this case as a gift for my birthday I had the camera in it about five times then on the sixth time the black plastic closing mechanism broke.
Cracked within two weeks. I am very careful with my electronics and their accessories. Did not drop it or anything, no clue how it cracked.
COOL
Camera seemed easy to use but I cannot attest to how well it worked as it was lost on the first day.
super
Very nice. Works as described. All I ask is for any future buyers to note that you have to speak loudly and clearly so the mic can pick up your voice from inside the case
Nice waterproof case for my cube!
