I love this thing. A $90 tablet with a complete version of Windows 10 home? I Don’t know how they managed that. I will not be parting with my Kindle for reading but this is nice because it will run the same apps that I have on my desk top. I mainly use office and the e-sword bible app. There is no android version of e-sword. However, e-sword works just fine on this tablet. I also like that you can use this thing in either tablet or desktop mode. For a $90 tablet, it works very well.
Okay. So, here it goes.I am blind, and use what is called a screen reader, which reads the screen to me out loud. It handled the screen reader called NVDA pretty good.I like the size of the tablet, don’t get me wrong. The size was excellent. If it was any smaller, I think it would be too small, lol.The sound…The speakers coming out of this tablet, comparing it to the slightly more expensive Dell Venue 8, which, by the way, is rated lower, was not that good.NVDA coming out of it sounded tinny at best, and I definitely was not impressed with the speaker quality. That is the only reason I knocked off 1 star. If the speaker quality was better, would I rate it a 5 stars? Sure, I would!!But with how tinny the speakers were, it sure isn’t getting 5 stars from me. Maybe it would be okay for someone who doesn’t rely on sound like I do being partially blind, but there ya go.So, to sum it up.The pros of this tablet.1. Good battery life. The battery life is just… omg. It is wonderful. I was just amazed with the battery in this tablet. But I’ll have to update if I see any difference, once I add more to the tablet, as right now, I really only have NVDA on it.2.The speed. The speed of the tablet when there isn’t much on it is pretty decent for a $89 tablet. Would it be better, if it cost more? Heck yeah. The bad about this thing.1. The speakers. The speakers coming out if this New Vision tablet is quite tinny at best, especially if you use a screen reader, and rely on sound like I do.2. Only 1 micro USB port.Since there is only one micro USB port, and it doesn’t come with the keyboard, you need a way to use a keyboard with it.Luckily for me, I had a Matias wireless keyboard that I was able to pair with this tablet. But for those that don’t? Good… freaking… luck! You are going to be frustrated as all heck, trying to find a way to get a keyboard working with this tablet. I will tell you this. If it weren’t for dear Michelle telling me I had my Matias, I probably would’ve gotten frustrated as all heck myself, lol.3.No hardware Windows key.Basically, you need a windows key to start Narrator. At least, if you’re blind, you do. And there is no hardware windows key. So when I discovered this, I found myself in a pretty bad situation, as like I said, there was no hardware windows key, or a keyboard to help me start narrator. So I had to figure out how to convert my USB plug of my Magic keyboard into a Micro USB connection, which luckily, there as an adapter included to do this.Other than that, would I recommend this tablet? Sure. Is it perfect? No, but thank goodness for my Matias keyboard and my Amazon Basics speakers.I have yet to find that tablet that is just perfect, smiles.Enjoy this tablet, if you decide to purchase this after reading my review. I am honest, and have not been discounted for this review at all.
So far it works well for my needs. Will see how it holds up and performs for a while longer before I add that 5th star.
Microsoft store has very limited apps so not good for a child’s tablet. Lock button was messed up in the first week.
Unit gets too warm
Positive
windows update broke the sound so i had to roll back the update. other than that im pretty happy with it.
Great tablet - compares to surface.
Very slow and icons are almost impossible to select
Very good product fast n easy to work
This review is based on this tablet that costed me less than 100 dollars. If you are reading reviews to determine if this device can do what you are looking for then you at least…
Works good. Windows update will consume nearly all storage. Added 32GB micro-SD to overcome this. Battery charge is sometimes normal but at other times seems to be too short.
Very happy with the tablet.
Much Higher Quality than the Irulu that I purchased previously.
comments powered by Disqusjust got it as a one day shipment. set it up last night. it was updating to the big windows 10 update when I got up this morning. it took another hour to finish the update.
