Secure and stable

The mount works great with my nuvi 65LMT and seems to be very secure and stable while going down the road. All the holes and cutouts are in the right places for access to the on/off switch and power cable. And no worries about the GPS receiver coming loose on bumps or turns. I replaced a smaller Garmin nuvi 1490LMT so am reusing the other RAM mounting hardware that I already had mounted to the handlebar of my motorcycle. Will be interesting to see how this receiver holds up to the vibration – the 1490 failed due to the internal connections to its USB port (I took it apart and fixed it a couple of times).Some notes:Have only used the nuvi 65 a few times on the motorcycle and find that the contrast of the screen is not as good in sunlight as with the 1490. Setting the unit to the “Night” mode, instead of “Auto”, with the darker background seems to help.I try to avoid riding in the rain as much as possible and the mount does not protect the receiver from the elements. I’ve used a ziplock bag over the previous unit and found that even with not being able to completely close the bag it still did very well in keeping the receiver dry. For me, this was a good trade off for not going with a much more expensive motorcycle specific GPS unit.
