Don’t over tighten it.
I used this to mount onto a hollow pole and over tightened the nut. The mount is aluminum and the stud snapped off. When it wasn’t broken, it was very solid and worked fine.

As a Long Distance Motorcyclist, I need to use the cockpit area of my bike as my living room and control center. With 2 GPSs, a cellphone (hands free into the helmet), a radar detector and some basic camera gear, it can all get a little crazy. My ram mounts help me keep it all sorted and comfortable. They are very high quality and extremely adaptable for differnent devices and ergonomic needs. An easy five star rating.

Solved my problem, just wish this came w/a small ball on the other end
I used this to create a custom mount for my car. I combined this i.Trek Vent Mount for Garmin Nuvi (Silver) with this product by cutting the small ball off the dual-ball post that comes w/the i.Trek vent mount, drilling a hole in the ball, and screwing this ball mount into the small ball.Then I could mount the new combined RAM/Trek ball mount into the Trek mount on one side and into this RAM double-socket RAM Mounts RAM DBL SOCKET ARM A-LENGTH Body Other Bases BLK- RAM-B-201U-A to connect to the RAM cell phone holder. RAM Mount Universal X-Grip Cell Phone Holder with 1-Inch Ball.This worked, but my life would have been a LOT easier if RAM would produce a 1” ball attached to a small ball on the other end, compatible with standard dash/vent mounts made by many companies.
