Along with the RAM mount claw and RAM claw, this grip system is amazing. I can use it on my motorcycle and on my bicycle without fear that my iPhone 5 will fall out. The WebGrip is probably not completely needed (my motorcycle buddy actually has the same system sans WebGrip), but it makes me feel a whole lot better and is cheap insurance.The construction of the system is well thought out and moderately to very rugged. One note, in high vibration applications (motorcycle), the more links you have, the harder is is to read the device screen.
An Exceptional Mount
Ram Mount is known for producing a terrific product at a fair price and the Ram Mount Short Arm Double Socket mount is no exception.This semi-universal ball-joint clamp does exactly what it says it will and it does it exceptionally well. I was looking for a universal mount to marry one of the Ram X mounts to my existing Garmin foot mount. Some said it could not be done since the Garmin ball mount is too small. But after wrapping several rubber bands around the small ball, this Ram Mount worked perfectly.The thumb-wheel is ample in size, the nut on the opposite end does not fall out, the mount clamps down securely with no signs of material fatigue. What more can you ask for?
Very versatile and useful when used with various Ram mount ball ends (Tough Claw, Diamond Ball, etc)
Use this item for various things. Have one mounted to hold a GO Pro in various situations, a security camera, and a GPS in a RZR. This is the shorter size and hold items very securely and takes up the least amount of room of the double socket arms. I also use the longer double socket arms where more length is needed, but I find this length to be the most useful for my needs. Really like the adjustability that the double socket ends gives you. Use this with a Ram Tough Claw and your mounting possibilities are nearly endless.

I have several RAM mounts and most of the time I use them to mount my smart phone to my handle bars of my MTB or ATV. The HB mnt comes with the longer dbl socket arm so I opted to buy the short one to test it out. I prefer the short arm because I feel when I use my gopro it shakes the camera less on bumpy rides. My Long arm is made of metal but this short one is some type of composite. It feels quite strong and still performs well in any weather. I do a lot of riding in the rain or thru water so the RAM mount is frequently getting splashed. It has never become loose and it is a very rigid design. I highly recommend most of the RAM mounts.
Short arm gives some flexibility
I use this with the RAM Mount Universal X-Grip Cell Phone Holder with 1-Inch Ball and RAM Mount Zinc Coated U-Bolt Base w/1” Ball. I like this system. It does a pretty good job of dampening the vibration. Just keep in mind the length of this. If you want something longer, there are other options. I wanted something small so I chose this length. It’s sitting on my 2001 Suzuki SV650 for my phone mount. I like that with a couple twists on the handle I can adjust my phone to a different angle. Sometimes I adjust it depending on my mood. Sometimes I want it vertical or horizontal. It is a pretty easy switch; it takes a few seconds to adjust. Everyone knows RAM mounts are the best for offroad/motorcycle use and this is just another stellar example.
Great Product
I’m a big fan of Ram mounts, and these are no exception. I use these on a motorcycle, and this is actually just a 2nd set, so I don’t have to keep switching between my two bikes. Much easier! Back to the products,, They are the usual Ram quality, which is fantastic. On the first set, I have 60k’ish miles, without any issues. I highly recommend Ram mounts, and I’m sure I will buy more in the future!

RAM quality but plastic this time
I have several other RAM components. The other double socket arms consist of sort of metal. This one is plastic. Seems to do the job just as well as the other pieces though so no problems with it. And, it’s lighter than the other metal piece I have of the same size so I guess that’s an advantage.

Ram mounts are simply the best. I was afraid to pull the trigger cuz they’re a bit pricy, but now I own 2 and I’ll never buy anything else.

Great item, very sturdy
CLEARLY A USED ITEM - VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!
Clearly used…faded paint that almost looked greasy. I soaked in simple green degreaser and it’s still faded. Item was not in packaging but rather bubble wrap US Postal bag.
