Great for quick mount location changes.
I’ve use this to mount a GoPro, suspended on up to three 4” arms, on my motorcycles. It holds tight and secure. I have no worries about it loosening or failing in any way. I love that I can quickly change the camera position, from handlebar to engine guard to cargo rack, etc, in seconds.I do recommend checking the screw that holds the ball onto the clamp before your first use. It’s a Phillips screw threaded into a captured locknut. During first use I noticed the ball flexing slightly and causing camera shake. I found the screw needed to be tightened up about a turn to make everything solid. After that everything was great.I also recommend another style mount if you’re mounting something semi-permanent, such as a GPS or cellphone holder. There are RAM mounts that are more secure, especially from theft, if you do not plan on moving your mount location often. I use a RAM u-bolt mount for my handlebar mounted GPS.

worked perfect to hold down my Minn kota Terrova Ipilot trolling motor. Connected easily and securely to the shaft. Holds it tight. I bought this along with the surface ball mount and long extension arm. Highly recommend to keep your motor head from bobbing up and down violently during a big wave ride.

AMAZING. So easy to install and move around. I wish I bought several of these instead of the other styles, which require a wrench. I use it with a very short extension arm to mount an iPad on a boat. I don’t know how well it would work with a long arm and a lot of weight on the end. Works well for an iPhone also.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.Has a rubber liner for extra grip inside the jaws.Very fast and easy to tighten.Just added it to my wish list. I want another one.

Great mount, I can use it anywhere on my motorcycle (BMW GSA), on my road bikes (bicycles), on the kayak, or anywhere really.The clamps is very sturdy once you fasten it down and does not budge. High quality from RAM as always. I’ve pared this clamp with a 3” RAM joint and a GoPro adapter with great results.

So I’ve only been using RAM products for about a month and so far I love them! I am an avid aviator and educator in the aviation industry and I must say that these components are superb! As a pilot in general aviation and in the part 135 (Charter) area these products are great, mainly speaking the clamps.I first started with RAM mounts purchasing the suction cup and arm for my iPad (I use ForeFlight). The suction cup did work well as a pilot likes to see outside! So I purchased the clamp (this product). So far so good. I fly the Beechcraft King Air 250, Duchess, Baron and many Cirrus models. The clamp secures well to the yoke and is very adjustable!I love getting what I paid for, RAM mounts delivers on providing a product that will last and lives up to the expectations I put fourth! If you are a pilot in the GA sector Id recommend looking into buying a clamp or cup for your EFB!

The gigantic clamp will hold just about anything. I use this in rental aircraft because no one wants you turning wrenches around an airplane unless you are an A&P. I have purchased RAM mounts for many years and I have not found anything better. They are bulky, heavy, ugly and decidedly very low-tech, which makes them reliable and pretty well bulletproof. I use them for aircraft and off road motorcycle use. Suction mounts work great… until they don’t. Don’t rely on the suction mount for outside vehicle use unless you have a secondary safety to keep it from leaving you forever. But really… Even the suction mounts are fantastic.
Overall good mount
Many reviews said the jaws would have to be lined with a strip of inner tube, or similar, to keep in from “twisting” and that is true if mounting a GPS on the horizontal portion of motorcycle handle bars. It stayed in place on a 200 mile trip with that alteration. The only thing I disliked about the setup is that on my 2004 Harley FXDWG and because of the inner tube lined clamp there is quite a bit of “wiggle” that is transferred to the GPS. That didn’t seem to affect anything though, just slightly annoying. I think that if were practical to mount it on the vertical portion of the handle bars there would be no “twisting” motion, so no issue. That’s the only reason I gave it 3 stars, otherwise I’d have given it 5.

Doesn’t clamp super tightly on my motorcycle handlebars and I can with a moderate amount of effort move it with my hands. But with my phone mounted it hasn’t moved yet even at 80mph so I guess it works well.
