Designed with Pi HAT’s in mind
Official case for the Raspberry Pi from the Raspberry Pi Foundation 5 part enclosure Removable Lid for easy access to the camera and display ports Removable Top Frame Removable Side Panels with easy access to the GPIO port Designed with Pi HAT’s in mind Dimensions: 96mm x 70mm x 25mm Compatible with the Raspberry Pi 2 Model B and Raspberry Pi Model B+ Note: Model A+ Boards will fit in this case however the USB port is recessed inside the case.
The Pi 2 has the Led’s on the left side of the back end of the case where the Pi 3 has the Led’s on the right side.Great case for the Pi 2. No screws and everything snaps together. Room for a top board like a DVMEGA - just drill a hole in the top lid for the antenna opening. A Pi 3 will fit in this case BUT the 2 display LED’s are on the opposite side of the back board on a Pi 3 compared to the Pi 2 - all other ports are identical. So if you do not care about viewing the blinking lights this case will work with a Pi3 even though it was designed for the Pi 2.I also have the black and dark gray Pi 3 case. And again it is identical to this red and white case except for the location of the clear plastic lens. .
This is my first time writing a review on Amazon. I bought a raspberry pi 2 and was looking for a case that would completely cover the raspberry pi. I bought this case and it shipped very fast. This is propably one of the best cases for the raspberry pi if you are looking for complete coverage, while still having the option to access the display and camera ports, as well as the GPIO pins. The raspberry pi 2 fit nice and snug inside with very little difficulty. The case holds it in really good.Discription:The case itself is made of durable plastic. The sides and top snap in place to the plastic frame. There are no screws just little plastic things that fit in the mounting holes. The case also comes with rubber feet that you have to stick to the bottom. There are no instructions provided but the mounting is pretty straight forward and self explanatory.
I purchased this case for a Raspberry Pi 2B, and it fits nicely in the case. The problem I have with this case is that it is not tall enough to allow a ribbon cable to be routed out through the case in order to connect the Pi’s GPIO pins to an external breadboard. It seems obvious that you might want to do this, as many starter kits, such as Canakit, etc., include such a cable. I can’t for the life of me understand why the official case is built this way. Just 1mm more vertical space would fit, surely it’s not a huge cost increase to provide this essential feature.UPDATE: Apparently there are low-profile ribbon cables that will fit in this case. The cable I have came in a CanaKit bundle, and it is not low-profile. Be careful when buying your cable!
This is one of the de-facto cases for Raspberry Pi devices. Anyone familiar with the scene will recognize the color and form factor combination. Those not so familiar will probably make note of the logo upon closer inspection. This houses my model 2B as well as my 3B. The cover is removable for GPIO access, though I mostly remove it if my 3B is lacking WiFi connection strength. All the connectors for I/O fit snugly and make a satisfying click into place. The only real downsides I find are that the window is rather narrow compared to the size of the board, and that the MicroSD card opening can be a bit deceiving. I have found myself on several occasions inserting the MicroSD card between the case and the card slot, rather than into the card slot itself.Pretty much a must-have for Raspberry Pi owners.
This case comes shrink-wrapped in clear plastic. Once opened, the case is made up of 5 pieces. Wiggle the Pi board into the bottom piece (there’s posts that will keep the board in place) and snap the top piece on. The sides snap on after, then the final top piece. It only takes about 15 seconds to casually assemble this, and it’s even faster to open up.This case is a great no-frills, easy access unit. Perfect for a casual Pi box.Recommended!
Using with pi3. feels warm to the touch so removed the top lid and it becomes a convertible. get this case if you want to spend <5 seconds to snap a case around a pi2/3.
I tried being different. For months my Raspberry Pi was encased in a hand-made cardboard case with a James Jean design. After that fell apart, I opted for something more secure. The form of this case says “raspberry pie,” loud and clear. It has been designed to be opened up and messed about with. You do have to use your brain a bit to figure out how to piece it together, but only a bit. And it didn’t cost too much either. Good work!
Even for a case, this goes above and beyond. It looks great, nice touch of rose pink to show your Raspberry pride, and it’s very configurable. You can pop out any of the non-port side walls to suit most modifications you make. Don’t be put off by the low price, it’s a very good product to purchase.
My raspberry fit perfectly and looks nice now
Holds my Raspberry Pi 3.
Very easy assembly, everything snaps on. I had no issues getting my Pi into this case, and it looks nice.
Fantastic case! Visually appealing.
Simple, functional case. Well made, fits snugly and precisely.
Very Durable, strong and vibrant colors!
Looks great, easy to work with and all ports are open and neat. Cost was inexpensive as well. All around winner.
Great looking case. needs a window in the top for LCD displays but if you are connecting to a monitor you don’t need that anyways.
Although the color palette is nice, the thing came “used” in a plastic bag. The thing easily came apart, and I mean that the slightest touch could return it to pieces, and…
