Hard plastic
The MC4 assembly tool is a hard plastic material that is very handy for both the assembly of custom MC4 wires, making it easier for new and veteran users to quickly and easily tighten and take apart the connectors.
I love this product for myself . Makes assembly and disassembly easy.It makes disconnecting the wire connectors much quicker. its the perfect tool to use. This tool is important for disconnecting MC4 solar panels without damaging the connectors. I plan to eventually upgrade my Solar Rig and run a dozen panels in Parallel and this tool is needed to disconnect them cables without risking breakage.
I thought these would probabaly be a waste of money but they are not. Another tool you will probably hardley ever use but make things simple when you do use them
These work ok, but took some figuring out to get them to hold the connectors correctly. Had to tilt them to the side to bind the connectors so they wouldn’t move when tightening. You do need two, I’ve never seen the point of the little spikes on the end to help when pulling apart the connectors. I could never get them to do much, just as easy to reach in and pinch the little tabs with my fingers. You’ll needs these to work on these connectors when installing, but would like to see a better fit.
You will appreciate this inexpensive tool if you want to disconnect cables connected with MC4 connectors.
Cool product to make cable with MC4 connectors. I like this better than using wrench
Very slick. One down, one up and pull. Pop. It took me a few to get it but super easy after I figured them out.
Needed for new style connectors. The make the job easier and work very well.
Am anxious to try using the 1st time. i know the precision will be excellent
