Picking up after Resident Evil: Retribution, Alice (Milla Jovovich) is the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead. Now, she must return to where the nightmare began - The Hive in Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.
I love the Resident Evil series and as much as I am sad to see it all end, I really did enjoy this movie. The ending/wrap up was in my opinion creative. It had a nice twist that I thought really work for the series. Especially when you go back and watch the older movies. You definitely need this one for your movie collection. I LOVE YOU MILLA!!
Well … Having been a fan of the movies for this long, I can say the action was great but I’m once again disappointed in the writer’s. Story line consistency was AGAIN completely screwed up. How many different times can we change the origin story … let’s find out. Overall, it was worth watching once to see the “end” (if this really will be the end and they won’t try to juice more out), but not sure it will be worth a repeat watch as I have the earlier movies. The glaring gaps in story line consistency are just too annoying.
I’ve been a huge fan of the Resident Evil series since the first movie came out, and this was a great way to end it. If you are a big fan of the movies, you may notice a couple plot lines from Apocalypse and Retribution that aren’t exactly contiguous, but otherwise, it’s a great movie. The action scenes are very well done, the script is well written, and the fight choreography is really good. While the main characters who appear in this film are the same actors that have been used in the previous films, the casting choices for some of the minor characters struck me as being exceptionally good. Something else about this movie that I liked was that it doesn’t waste time over-sexualizing the female leads at the expense of the actual plot. While Alice, Jill, Claire, Rain and Ada all have their sexy female moments throughout the series, this film doesn’t spend a lot of time simply focusing on how they look, and it made the movie that much the better for it.
What else is there to expect from these Resident Evil movies? They aren’t the greatest movies in the world, but for what they are, I don’t hate them, they are alright. Though, this one did have many stupid scenes and stuff that didn’t make sense, like “You have three minutes to save humanity!” Ten minutes later, still fighting. Though I never did really play the games, I guess that is why I don’t hate these movies so much.
I’ve seen every Resident Evil and have always loved them. This movie fell short for me. Yeah, tons of kick ass fighting with Alice and the evil demons, but not too much on a storyline. As for Final Chapter, I doubt it, but it kind of had some kind of closure. I love Millie as Alice and some questions about her and the doomsday was explained, but I felt it was too much like watching the video game instead of a real movie.
This seriously does not deserve 5 stars. It’s a goofy horror/action movie based on a horror video game. It doesn’t always stay true to the previous chapters. Of course, none of them really adhered terribly well to previously established cannon. This is silly. And I loved it.This was not meant to be high art. This was meant to be fun, not intellectual. This was entertainment.
Good action but honestly these have gone on way to long now, for me time to close up shop, which I think this was the final one, I think Milla would not want to do anymore of them. OK if your bored and need something to watch
Love the Resident Evil series, The final chapter is enjoyable and loyal to the series.
Absolutely a fantastic Movie watched it 2x
One of my favorite movie franchises Resident Evil and the main character Alice is perfect! However, Resident Evil Extinction, Afterlife and Retribution sucked.
Love the series ❤️
