Backwards compatible with USB 2.0
The Samsung USB flash drive is the perfect combination of form and function. You will have the ability to store, move and back up data in a snap.
UPDATE: The plastic is not holding up great. Over the last year, the part of the drive that plugs into the USB port has gotten chewed up in my pocket by my keys and is becoming increasingly difficult to plug into a USB port. Meanwhile my older metal thumb drive is going strong. Carrying this on a keyring? Look for a metal thumb drive.I used to carry the metal version of this thumb drive in a smaller capacity. Well, actually, I still do. But I needed something a little bigger, and I decided to try the plastic version this time (if for no other reason than to have a different color thumb drive in my pocket to differentiate them). The plastic is holding up great. The drive is fast. It “nests” well on my keyring and doesn’t make a mess in my pants pocket with the keys. This is pretty much perfect.I really, really wish I could get this in 256GB and 512GB.
Important: I ordered the Blue Version and that is what my review is based on. The blue version is plastic, not the “high quality metal” that exists in the silver edition.Needless to say, my biggest disappointment was that the blue version was made of plastic which concerns me from a durability perspective. I did want to have this on my keychain in my pocket most of the time. I’m guessing this will last several months, but will be far less durable than it’s metal brother. The “keyring” is a big design-before-function. I ended up clipping it to a tiny keyring with a tiny caribeaner. If placed directly on a larger keyring, it never seems to sit right in my pocket.Strictly speaking from a technical perspective, it’s a solid drive. It’s fast, it’s USB 3.0. It does everything it’s advertised to do. I just wish it weren’t plastic.
Personally, I like the chrome version of this usb fob. I ran over my plastic one, and although it survived, it took a while to straighten it back out, and it hasn’t been the same, since. The performance is excellent. But what I really like is the size and form factor. It is not too small to handle, and isn’t too big to get in the way. The butt end of the usb drive has a rise to it, so you never have to look to see which way to plug it in. You always know just from holding the drive. That removes one of the main annoyances that I have with USB drives. Which side is up?
Very fast and is able to sustain high write speeds (80-90 mb/s) without slowing down. I copied a 9 Gigabyte file to this and it got only slightly warm, usually my low profile drives get hot and slow down after 1 GB. This drive was smaller than expected and feels solid in the hand. If you want to store anything larger than 32 GB I recommend just buying an external hard drive because the cost per GB is much lower.
I have bought quiet a few of these so far. They have been very reliable and very well made. I have only ever had a problem with one of them Which seemed to read very low memory. Otherwise these are the only USBs that i use. Both colors are very nice but i do prefer the metal one. Overall Good Product.
These look like metal, but they’re cheap plastic. If you squeeze gently the plastic deforms and they don’t fit well in the usb ports on my mac. Oh yeah, and one arrived non-functional. I can see these cracking in the very near future.
This flash drive gets very hot when transferring data. I’m going to guess that the heat is going to kill it.. but for now it works great and is fast. It’s not super sturdy so it may break easily. It’s very small if that is something you are looking for.
Pro: Fast transfer speeds, very reliable performance (even on older hardware). I’ve never had any issues reading/writing on any computer I’ve work with.Con: It does not hold up if you keep it on a key-chain. I was able to get almost a year out of mine before it broke a part. Even within the first 6 month, pieces of plastic started bending and breaking off.If you’re going to use lightly, this flash drive is great. If you’re going to attach it to your car key ring and carry it in your pocket, don’t expect it to last long.
Very compact, sturdy and transfer rate is great.
not buy this product is breaks easily
its stop working after a while
super slick looking. light as feather.
Worked great until plastic cracked and eventually broke off. Something advertised for use on a key chain should be able to handle the wear and tear.
Works well as advertized
The plastic on inserted end breaks very quickly, though the flash drive still works fine.
Love it, carry it on my keychain. I use it for my car, my pc, and anywhere on the go. Looks nice, good solid feel. Never a problem.
Nice 1!!! :)
