Curve is overrated
I may have expected a lot from the curved screen, only to get disappointed. I think this who,e curved panel technology is overrated. Maybe a gimmick from the manufacturer to all new TVs.To start, this TV does have great picture quality BUT it’s limitied to the viewing angel facing the tv right on. If you’re looking at the screen from either side you’ll regret buying this TV. if I would do it again I would buy a street panel 8 series. At least the extra bucks goes towards better options ( faster refresh rate, better sound quality. Etc.)Another issue with this curved screen is mounting it on a wall mount. Not only you’ll need a mount specially designed for curved screens, you’d need a high end top of the line mount. I bought with a $79 mid scale mount and was disappointed that none of the screws were long enough to fit the bottom set of sockets on the VESA. Googled this tv and what mounts work with it found only the $200 plus are completely compatible. That’s another factor you may want to consider when buying this tv.Keep in m No that this is still 7 series. Samsung, lg and Sony all have their TV sets categorized in series. The higher the better. Series 7 is decent but it’s lacking when it comes to sports. You’ll start noticing things not smooth enough for your licking. This set is advertised as 120Hz refresh rate, but I have yet to see that as every program I watched was at 60 Hz. Ten years ago technology. 8 series are true 120hz and some are 240Hz. While the 9 series are all at 240Hz standard. Also the 8 series have much better sound engines and you’d get true life sounds from it.Sorry this is long. I just wanted to point out a few of the points that are not mentioned in the discreption. I did return this tv for other reasons.. my set had an I ssue with display shows thick amber color line on top part of the screen. And constant freezing with the remot.

I regret having to have purchased the “Square trade” 5 year warranty…they wasted over 2-3 months of my life and ended up with the typical scam oufits excuse not to replace my 3 yearold defective orid an joy..BUT, my very favorite and only vendor for all online purchases for the past 8 yrs as a prime customer..came tothis 78 yr old disabled vets rescue and without question replaced my defective set with a brand spanking new 55” 4k/uhd curved set..I am sight disabled and I need very high rez as a pc monitor and top drawer tv in order to see the screen clearly. Thank you Amazon, thank you thank you thank you:-)

The picture and interface on this TV are fantastic. I docked a star from my review because there does not seem to be a way to hard boot the TV without physically pulling the plug. Sometimes you need to be able to kill an app - that’s not possible on any recent Samsung TV without a power cycle. At least on the older ones you could turn off the fast boot option and the TV would power all the way down at the press of the power button. Restore that feature, Samsung, and you can have your otherwise well-deserved 5th star back.

The “Not So Smart” Smart TV
It is a wonderful television.It is not a Smart Television, it is a television that needs to get smarter. Let me clarify, am a heavy internet user (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Sling) and do not use Cable or Satellite. Unfortunately, this Smart TV will not allow you to watch the newest HULU version that lets you watch live TV. It also does not let you watch Sling.Samsung says it is up to the developer to provide the App but how does virtually every TV have these Apps and Samsung (same Samsung that used to have a Sling App) not have? Roku TV’s have all of this and they are cheap. To watch these shows I need to plus a $35 Chrome Stick or a Roku or Amazon Fire into the Smart TV so that it can be Smart. Well, I bought this so that I wouldn’t have to go do all of that.Come on Samsung. Get it together. This is not hard.
