Product Reviews

Awesome, thin case

The case is slim and seems durable. The keyboard is what you’d expect for a 9.7” screen. It’s responsive and easy to type. When the case is closed you’d be challenged to realize that there is indeed a keyboard inside. It’s that slim. Yes, there are more heavily padded cases, but add a third party keyboard and you may have an awkward carry situation. My only two gripes are the cost and the fact that it only comes in one color, a light battle ship gray. This will show a lot of dirt. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this case if you can live with those two negatives.

Five stars. It works flawlessly, holds the tablet securely, and has no lag.

I purchased this item from Best Buy as it was backordered on Amazon and I had the Tab S3.I have used it for over one week. I have multiple laptops and have gone through multiple tablets and keyboards. I use my tablet for light duty productivity and message/e-mail responses and light editing. For any heavy use, I need a lap top or desk top.I am a professional business person and use it on a routine basis as an alternative and light weight travel tablet. I place it in my backpack and find it light weight, convenient and easy to use. Big enough to allow utilization but much more convenient and portable than my 13 inch laptop. .I honestly think that there is an expectation by some to have tablet keyboard to to be the best most wonderful keyboard in the world. It is functional and does a good job. It is for a tablet that is 9.7 inches and cannot be a full sized keyboard. Having had many tablet keyboards, including ones from Samsung, here is my opinion and update to correct or add previous information.1.) When detaching the tablet, it turns off the tablet. Someone noted this was a disadvantage, claiming he/she then had to turn the tablet back on. I find this turn off function when taken out of the dock and advantage. I’m done with the task, remove the tablet, and it’s off.2.) The comment that it has no magnetic “off” contact when closing the cover does not happen on my cover. If the tablet is on and I put it in the keyboard cover and close it, it turns the tablet off. When using the keyboard cover, place it in the dock, and it turns on the tablet. Remove the tablet, it turns off. Turn the tablet on while outside the cover, put it in the cover, close the cover, it turns the tablet off.3.) It runs off the Tablet power. I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to have a keyboard need charging independently from the tablet. One less thing to have to charge..4.) The lack of blue tooth hook up, noted in another review is a plus. The direct connection eliminates the independent power need of the keyboard. And, for anyone who has ever used a tablet blue tooth keyboard, the constant lost bluetooth connection and need to resync is a big problem.5.) The keyboard has a nice feel6.) The cover has a holder for the pen.7.) I have not had the problem of the tablet sliding out of the cover. I have tried to reproduce the tablet sliding out, described by the other review. I have to either hard drop it into a knapsack, or smack it on the side. Maybe I’m more careful, or less abusive. In either case, in one week of daily use, the tablet has never slipped out of the case. What the tablet keyboard is not, is a full sized keyboard. It is cramped. But the key detention and feel is good.Remember, this is not a lap top or a full sized keyboard. It is for use with a 9.7 inch tablet. Big enough to be useful, too small for full productivity. What it isn’t is a big, comfortable keyboard. However, it functions perfectly without a hitch. No bluetooth delay or need to sync.Someone noted the color. I got the silver Tab S3, the grey cover is perfect. What I don’t like is that It is kind of pricey.I’m giving it five stars because honestly think it is about as good as any tablet keyboard I have had and does the job. I have read multiple criticisms on review sites. I do think many reviewers believe that applying an unrealistic standard and expectation to a device elevates the reviewer’s standing among those who believe that every device must provide a quantum leap in technology. This is a tablet keyboard. It turns the device on when connect, off when disconnected, and off if the device is placed in the cover. The magnetic cover, in my use, has never failed to hold the cover. The keyboard works flawlessly without lag and has multiple options in the software for different inputs. It does not require charging and the connection is secure. What I am missing?

Functional, but could have been better

Having used the Zagg backlit cover with the iPad Air I’m aware of the space limitations for 9.7 inch tablet keyboars. They are never going to be great daily drivers, but should be good enough to be productive and the Samsung Keyboard achieves this. The magnets work well to protect the back of the device but they cover the camera. Not a huge issue but could have been avoided.Overall the Samsung Tab S3 Keyboard cover is a reasonable package, but with a few tweeks the product could have been so much better. I wished Samsung had used the hinge design like Zagg as this gives much more depth for the keyboard. Enough to add in a layer of function keys (volume, play, home etc…) and not have such small number keys where I keep hitting the touchscreen (and changing applications or curser position) when trying to use them. A hinge design also allows for multiple viewing angles that you dont get with the Samsung. It still works reasonably well on lap but is better suited to a table. I like the fact that you dont need to charge the Samsung keyboard due to its attachment ports but having a backlit keyboard would have been great - its unfortunate this was missed. The stick on pen holder is great.

but it’s SO NICE to NOT have to poke the screen to type …

Definitely worth the purchase. Doesn’t add too much to the overall dimensions when shut, but it’s SO NICE to NOT have to poke the screen to type an email …and it comes with a loop to store your stylus when not in use. The tablet shuts down when you disconnect it from the keyboard, which is a bummer when you do so by accident, like say when you’re watching netflix in bed. Other than that though, I have no complaints and would definitely reccommend getting it.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Keyboard Cover

The cover fits well, wish it has adjustable positions. The pen holder is a joke, one can lose the expensively pen easily! The worst is any letter or word can jump to the front of the sentence, I have to use the screen keyboard to bypass this problem, very inconvenient. May be Samsung can fix this very annoying issue. Otherwise, the keyboard is very comfortable to type, a delete button will be very useful.

It is almost like someone stopped designing when the budget or schedule ran …

It works. And it is elegant in design and functionality. But the aesthetic design is not a match for the device. It is almost like someone stopped designing when the budget or schedule ran out.

very nice and user friendly keyboard

very nice and user friendly keyboard. perfect for using with the tab when you are in a hurry . keys give a nice feel and are equally responsive for an average user. The only drawback is the s-pen holder which doesnt grip the stylus and you have to use the clip to hook it to the holder. though the tip is always prone for accidental damage.all in all a must have device for tab 3 user who wants a bit of typing to be done.

Great Tablet. Best I ever had !

Nice keyboard for the Tablet. The keys have a good feel to them.A nice feature is that the keyboard charges when the tablet connects with it.

Very Nice!

Very nice addition to protect and serve a purpose

very happy

great product and prompt delivery

Works great!! The ONLY thing is that you can’t

Works great!! The ONLY thing is that you can’t, as far as I know, pause videos with the space bar. If you are used to traditional laptops then this takes some getting used to.

Five Stars

Works fine with tab s3

… bump the price up but it really is a nice keyboard case

I was thinking it was just an add on to bump the price up but it really is a nice keyboard case.

I love the cover

I love the cover, it’s super thin and the keyboard is very convenient to write! With this cover the this tablet is like ultra thin laptop (you may also want to buy bluetooth mouse…

It’s just Ok

It’s not a smart cover (tablet doesn’t lock and display isn’t turned off when closing the cover)It doesn’t have a hole for the cameraI didn’t receive the rubber thing…

Not quite there

The case is a sub-par keyboard. That’s all. There’s no magnetic on/off, there’s one stand angle that is bad for every use I’ve found, the material is just awful, and the keyboard…

Poor Design and Terrible Customer Service

The keyboard itself functions reasonably well and as expected. My beef is with poor accessory design and terrible customer support the likes of which I don’t think I…
