Smart Features Inaccessible Unless You Agree to ADS

I was very happy with this TV despite its unwillingness to work with my PS4 at times (more than likely a software conflict). The picture is beautiful, the size is perfect, it’s incredibly lightweight. I specifically sought out a decent smart TV, the 4k is a lovely resolution bonus that I’ve been very happy with. It was incredibly convenient to open up Netflix and other apps right from the home screen without having to turn on another console to do it - though it’s worth noting that Netflix doesn’t always play nice with this TV and sometimes you have to start it a couple times for it to work. This was not big enough of an issue for me to dock any stars, however.A couple days ago, that changed. I received a prompt informing me that all smart features would be inaccessible unless I agreed to view ads on my TV. There was no info in the terms and conditions dialogue box, just a blank popup. So I did not agree, and all my apps that had previously been working just fine disappeared. The major functionality that I bought this TV for is now useless, as Samsung is effectively holding my smart features hostage until I agree to view ads. Of course I am furious (my previous review on this subject was rejected presumably due to some foul language).This scenario would not make me so upset if the TV had been sold as a set that forced ads, but it was not. The terms of the sale as I understood them changed long after the fact and without my permission, which I consider extremely unethical. Had I known this would happen before I made the purchase, I would not have bought this TV, or any Samsung smart TV, as it appears to be across the board.—If there is one upside to the smart features being disabled, it’s that the ‘smart’ software no longer conflicts with my PS4. So there is that, I suppose. If you don’t care about smart features, for full disclosure, this is still a very nice piece of hardware, it just doesn’t include the full package anymore.

Updated 7/4/2016-Amazon Video Support for this 2016 Model

Amazon Video is not supported for this 2016 model TV according to Amazon customer service. We are unable to even get to an Amazon sign in screen and have spent 2 hours on the phone with both Samsung and Amazon each stating it is not their issue. After discussing with Samsung and performing factory resets I was directed to call Amazon because it was a software issue. When calling Amazon, the customer service rep said they were unable to authorize a new download of the app to the TV and I had to talk to Samsung because the 2016 model was not a supported model. After expressing my displeasure, the condescending comment I received was “Are you finished talking?” and “There is nothing further we can do for you”. Wow.Samsung we tried not my problem now-Amazon just not my problem while the customer who has paid hard earned money is left with a product that does not work as advertised and for which it was purchased.6/26/2016-After writing this review I received contact from Amazon via e-mail and phone. After discussing with technical reps a service ticket was opened and approximately 6 hours later the Amazon Video appears to be working. Samsung spent approximately 3 hours with me on the phone and once I got to the right person at Amazon, in the technical department, the customer service was tremendous. Once I have a chance to enjoy the TV and its features I will update this review to reflect the quality of the TV picture and experience post technical issue.Updated-7/4/2016After about a week watching this TV and the Amazon Video issues ironed out we are extremely pleased with the purchase despite the issues. Picture quality with certain Amazon Video UHD movies is incredible along with sporting events. We are streaming with Sling with the Amazon Fire Stick and the quality of picture is great along with motion rate. As a follow up to Amazon support, once we got to the right person/department it was incredible. The person we spoke to was Mike, in technical support, who assured me it would be taken care of and the issue was resolved. We even received a follow up call on July 3rd to make sure everything was working and to provide feedback on our customer service experience. Amazon-here is your feedback publicly. Thanks for making it right and taking care of your customers!

This tv causes a great amount of ghosting on the edges of items when moving the camera in video games.

Samung TVs a Failure

Very poor quality TV. I cannot access Netflix or Amazon on this TV. When I called Samsung, the rep told me that this is a common issue with all Samsung TVs, not just my model.

DON’T forget the WARRANTY or you’ll regret it!

Very Poor quality Samsung

I Have owned this TV for approx. After only 11 months & it has developed several 18”lines, running completely through the screen, from the top to the bottom.
