Product Reviews

Just as fast as the Extreme Pro 95MB/s UHS-I microSD

Until recently, SanDisk Extreme Plus MicroSD UHS-I U3 cards were rated 80MB/s read and 50MB/s write. This new Extreme Plus microSDHC card (as of October 2015) caught my attention because it is advertised at 95MB/s read and 90MB/s write, the same as the current Extreme Pro microSD card! This card is UHS-I compatible and rated UHS Speed Class 3 (U3). The speed class means it can sustain at least 30MB/s continuous write speed so it is suitable for recording 4K video that requires high bitrate. Both old and new Extreme Plus microSDHC cards look exactly the same, the only difference is the packaging and the batch numbers on the back of the cards. I ran some benchmarks of the cards as well as an Extreme Pro microSD to compare read and write speeds.New Extreme Plus (9590) UHS-I U3 microSDHC 32GB <- this itemSequential Read: 97.578 MB/sSequential Write: 91.331 MB/sOlder Extreme Plus (8050) UHS-I U3 microSDHC 32GBSequential Read: 97.806 MB/sSequential Write: 65.360 MB/sExtreme Pro 95MB/s (9590) UHS-I U3 microSD 32GBSequential Read: 97.587 MB/sSequential Write: 91.316 MB/sAmazing! I don’t understand SanDisk marketing. Maybe is a faster Extreme Pro microSD UHS-II card coming soon? The prices of SD cards change frequently, so if considering this or the Extreme Pro, just buy whichever is cheaper.

Nothing But SanDisk

As a former full-time photographer, I have a lot of experience with memory cards. I learned the hard way long ago to trust Sandisk and will always buy them over any other brand. They have gone through the washing machine, been in extreme heat and cold, and dusty environments and they just keep on working. Never any problems being read by multiple computers. Highly recommended!

The real deal

I was skeptical at first because the description didn’t specify 128gb and this same product is selling in stores for a much higher price, but I was pleased to receive exactly what I purchased. Same packaging as the over priced store microsd and true to the size. Actual storage is slightly less than 128, but that’s to be expected. I now have a fast, large, microsd in my new Samsung s7 and couldn’t be happier!

Not sure what the difference is?

I mean, yes I get the name is different and the speeds are different. But how different are they? I quickly tested both of them on a Sony A7RII in 4k at 100mbps and I couldn’t tell the difference. Maybe I am not running a proper test, so take my ‘quick’ test with a grain of salt. Anyhow, they both seem to be working without a problem. I read that if the card is not fast enough, the camera may lose some frames when recording to the card. Anybody with more experience out there that tested both kinds? My cards are:SanDisk Extreme PLUS 64GB microSDXC UHS-I/U3 Card with Adapter (SDSQXSG-064G-GN6MA) $47.86 (at moment of purchase)And…SanDisk Extreme 64GB microSDXC UHS-I Card with Adapter (SDSQXNE-064G-GN6MA) Old Version $29.04 (at the moment of purchase)

Five Stars

Works great in my GoPro Hero4 Session! Very satisfied.

Great SD card to record 4k video!

These cards are super fast! I use them in my drone that records in 4k, so I needed a card that is capable of fast write times. I know the read times are important as well. I have had no issues with any of my videos. I haven’t performed a speed test like the other reviewers, but I know this is fast enough to record 4k.I was initially thinking on purchasing a 128GB card, but I decided to purchase 2x64GB cards. The reason being is that they do slow down and generate errors over time. With that being said, I use one of the 64GB card for all of my recording. When I start to see errors/recording errors, I will have a backup. Remember, these cards don’t last forever!

High Performance & Dependable!

Purchased for use with my Azulle Mini PC (Windows 10, 64 bit) which has only 32GB of storage. It was critical I purchase a high end card since it will be used for documents, photos, apps, etc. I already purchased SanDisk cards for my Samsung Galaxy Edge 7 and Samsung Tab S2 9.7 inch tablet. In those previous cases, I chose a card appropriate for 4K video. I saw no reason to switch brands for my latest needs.

Could not be more happier. Awesome product

I am using it with my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Could not be more happier. Awesome product. A+++
