Product Reviews

Warning: Potentially Counterfeit Units

I bought this card on Monday and it arrived Wednesday, 9/30/15. I bought it from Amazon, it said “Ships from and sold by Amazon.com”, and it’s the #1 best seller in microSD cards. The packaging seemed proper, but when I opened up the packaging and inspected the card, it looks obviously counterfeit. The detail in the printing is abysmal; while you would expect a 3 color screen printing process with sharp details and lines from the product photo, the item I received looked as though it had been labeled with a halftone CMYK printing process, which would make little sense if these were genuinely produced by SanDisk at a large volume. Even the packaging has higher resolution halftone printing with sharper details. There is also no “raised” or “indented” features on the back, which some people have pointed to as an indicator of a counterfeit. Attached are photos of the item I received next to a genuine Transcend unit, which has sharp lines and detail expected from a screen printing type process, taken from an iPhone 6 and from a digital microscope. If SanDisk could chime in and address this issue that would be good; are these wonky looking cards legit? Or, given that Amazon.com is an authorized reseller, is there a serious supply chain issue going on here?

Told product not valid for webcams - warranty not honored

My sandisk sd card failed in 2 of 8 webcams that use occasional event recording (not continuous). Upon contacting sandisk for warranty replace/repair, they replied below, denying warranty. Did not see any such disclaimers in product description. Will replace, and recommend, different manufacturer for next sd card.Dear ,Thank you for contacting SanDisk® Global Customer Care. I understand your concern. Please be informed SanDisk recommends using High Endurance Cards with Dash Cams/ Sec Camera etc. These cards are specially designed to withstand continues read and write performance. SanDisk Ultra/Standard micro SD card is not recommended to be used in a Continuous read/write environment and it also voids the warranty of the memory card. Please refer to the link below for more information about SanDisk High Endurance memory cards:SanDisk High Endurance memory cards(advertisement removed per amazon guidelines). Please refer to the incident id: xxx, should you require further assistance. We are glad to help!Best regards,Chris V.SanDisk® Global Customer Care

These have always worked perfectly, just be aware that they’re very small!

I’ve bought several of these over the last year and they always work very well. When used in a dash cam they many hold hours of video, and copying to and from these cards has always been flawless. While their small size is convenient in most ways, they’re smaller than my smallest finger nail and require a small amount of dexterity to handle. They are also VERY easy to misplace or lose! Still, the best way I’ve found to inexpensively hold tons of data for a small cost.

Be careful with dash cams

I purchased this for use solely with my dash cam.I leave my automotive dash cam on 247.After about 6 months plus of using it in that manner the camera started saying “please insert memory card”.With my dash cam set to loop and overwrite older media after this fills up and the video files being 1080p I’m pretty sure I extended the write life of the memory card.I’m going to try and recover and reuse it. It’s possible if I set the dash cam to be a lower resolution then 1080p with 480mb looping file sizes I should be able to get a longer life. This would be due to less deletes and overwrites taking place.Overall for the price I’m happy with my purchase. Do pay attention to how you’re using this card so you don’t potentially run into the same issue I did.

The Secure Digital storage device is technology that was appropriated …

The Secure Digital storage device is technology that was appropriated from aliens when they crashed in Roswell in 1947. Only recently, and with the guidance of the Secure Digital Association of San Ramon CA (also staffed by aliens) have we achieved the manufacturing acumen necessary to duplicate, for public consumption, this modern marvel. They are truly a god-send, since god sent the aliens here, for our digital age. These are the alternative facts.

32gb works great…buyer beware of the 128gb!!

I received this on April 2, 2015 for my Galaxy S5. Shortly thereafter, there was an OS update for the Samsung Galaxy S-series, following the release of the Galaxy S3 phones.I noticed that immediately after, the SD card lost all of the application data and was no longer storing new photos. I thought it was the OS, and since I was eligible for an upgrade, I traded in my S5 for a Note Edge.Well, guess what. It was not my phone. The SD 128 drive does not work in my new phone. I have a tablet with an SD 32gb disk, so I decided to do a little swapping and testing… the 32gb drive works in both devices but the 128gb is not recognized by either. Yes, I even backed-up the data and reformed the disk. What’s worse is that I’m writing this review on May 9th, 2015. EXACTLY 4 days after the expiration of the 30 day return period. Essentially, I lit $75 on fire…weeeeee. These 128gb drives go bad. Don’t get stuck like me and so many others. I have a 32gb and 64gb drive and both have worked flawlessly, and Ive had the 64gb drive for over a year. Do yourself a favor and just buy a smaller drive for a much more reasonable price.

Good product, would buy again

Purchased this for additional storage for a smart phone. Been a fan of SanDisk products for a while and continue to be after this purchase. The product arrived undamaged and works beautifully. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for additional storage for their cameras, smart phones or other device requiring a micro-SD card.“This product was received at a free or discounted price in exchange for my review.
