Why in the world Garmin degraded their units to use regular glass instead of non-glare is beyond me. Obviously, in a vehicle, there is going to be a lot of glare. To me, a non-glare screen protector for my Garmin Nuvi 2589LMT was a no-brainer - my questions in ordering this particular one were, would it arrive in time to a trip I was taking, would it be easy to apply, would it stick, and would it make the screen too dark? I have been very pleased. It actually arrived earlier than I expected and I did get it in time for my trip. I was very careful in applying it, and it took a few tries to get it on without any significant bubbles, but pulling it up to try again didn’t seem to hurt it, and I did get it applied successfully. It did what it was supposed to do - make the glare go away, without overly darkening my screen. I’ve been carrying it arround (in a case) for 5 weeks now, and so far, it is sticking perfectly. I’m a happy customer.
I like the screen of it
I purchased this because of the glare problem the Nuvi 2599LMTHD has. I like the screen of it, but any light at all will reflect off the surface and make it very difficult to view.This screen protector is just ok. Really should be a 3.5⁄5. Acceptable because there really aren’t any alternatives available being that it is not nearly as common a purchase as a smartphone. Kudos to ScreenPatronus for keeping this in stock and offering this. Yes, it was only $6, but I have had many different branded $2 iphone anti-glare cover that fit perfectly. Fitment isn’t great but I got it to work. It covers the entire garmin, but almost slightly to large. It leaves 1mm along the edges of the screen protector that don’t fully adhere to the garmin. It is clearly visible once in place. I’ll update with a photo once I can get back to my car.Once the garmin is set on the dash, it isn’t something glaring, but it’s definitely there.I have it lined up perfectly and the area cut out for the microphone just clears it. It is cut off-center but again, it fits.All protectors are pretty easy to put on once you know how. The key is patience. Prep is very important, as is taking your time to line up the protector so it is put on evenly. Make sure you watch youtube videos using the tape method to clean any dust off and to remove any obstructions on the backside of the film when you’re putting them on. This particular protector must be PERFECTLY placed since this screen protector is nearly exact, if not a hair larger. I had to line it up several times before I got it right.PRO TIP: only expose 1” of the adhesive when lining it up. As you place it on the garmin, glide your finger on the protector side to side to watch for any bubbles. Bubbles = dust. Use your tape to clean it off. (watch youtube). Keep exposing more and more of the back and go slowly. Once you’re sure your perfectly lined up you can keep going until it is fully placed on. If you follow this method, you will have a perfect screen protector on any one of your electronics.
Good protector for the price.
I bought one of these for my Garmin DriveSmart 50LMT which is physically the same size.It seems to have dramatically reduced the glare without noticeably affecting the brightness or touch sensitivity.You don’t get anything but the screen protector and very simple instructions.To install screen protectors, I have found it by far the best to turn on a hot shower and steamup the bathroom (removes all dust from the air) for a place to work.Then just clean the screen very well and apply the protector.Dust is the cause of almost all installation grief.I first aligned this protector along the bottom and left edges of the GPS screen for easiest alignment.The microphone cutout is not quite centered around the mic hole but does not interfere with it.I agree with others that the very edges do not completely adhere but they are not at all noticeable to me in use.

Arrived ahead of schedule and is a very nice screen protector for the 2599LMT. Like the anti glare finish. Does not affect the touch screen at all as far as I can tell. Really thin and took a bit to get on but it fits and looks good. Says it can be washed and reused. I would buy it again no question.
This one works for me
I was concerned about it having to put it on myself because I always seem to get it messed up. This one was easy to put on fits perfectly No bubbles or edges that don’t stick. It functions well also in reducing glare, doesn’t attract dust and clarifies the screen making easier to see. Probably the biggest thing it makes the touchscreen work better than without one or other screen protectors I have tried in the past. I hope they have them for my other touchscreens.
Perfectly Sized Screen Protector-Nice Quality
Nice screen protector for my Garmin 2599. Size is perfect and the cutout is exact. Had to spend some time pushing out about 10 or so air bubbles, but once that is done, the screen protector is perfect! Best to get one of these since the Garmin screen can easily be scratched without the screen protector.
Lots of bubbles
The Nuvi 2589LMT has a wicked glare on clear and sunny days, so I ordered the ScreenPatronus. The reviews I read were very positive, yet I couldn’t cover my screen without bubbles. I did everything suggested in the instructions, but the bubbles wouldn’t go away. I have successfully covered iphone screens for my wife and me, and never had a problem. So I’m know how to apply the screens. But I threw this one away. Great price, very quick delivery, but I didn’t like this product.
OK By Me
The screen protector arrived on time and fits the screen very well. I followed the directions for applying it to the screen and with a few minor adjustments it’s about as bubble free as any screen protector I’ve ever tried. The protector’s matte finish helps cut down the excessive glare that my Garmin GPS unit’s screen suffered from. So far I’m quite pleased.
