Best sports bra for bigger busts

Blessed or cursed, I have a large bust and finding a decent sports bra is really hard. I have tried Enell and Royce but the Shock Absorber is the best. Enell is okay I think if you are about the same width all the way around, which for someone with a small underbust (32) and a small over bust (36) and a 42 inch bust, I always felt too restricted in Enell, like I couldn’t breathe. And Royce were good while they lasted, but the material they were made of was more cottony and less technical, so I found that they would quickly lose their security and that I’d be bouncing while running on a couple months after purchase. Not with the Shock Absorber. The style of the bra is similar to regualr bras so you can get a good fit throughout, without being so cinched up that you can’t breathe. It is tight enough that I find them uncomfortable to wear more than a couple hours so I don’t know what I would recommend if you wear going to run a marathon, but for an hour at the gym and the drive to and from, it is fine. The best part is, no bounce. The internal “slings” give your breasts a place to sit, without overly compressing them, most of the support comes from that and the band so be sure you get the right band size. The open band in the back is nice for airflow and if you need to make the top or bottom tighter or looser, you can which is nice. The technical fabrics used holds up after months and months of use. I find I can get about a year of gym time out of them (I run about 3-5 hours per week total, an hour at a time). You’ll know when it is time to replace it.The only other main drawback for me, is the placement of the padding on the arms. You can see on the photo how the wider part of the band is on the apex of the model’s shoulder. On me it is too low, meaning that the padded part is resting on my collarbone and a thinner part of the band is on my shoulder. Maybe this is part of the reason I can’t wear it more than an hour, since the shoulder support is not as good with the padded part being misplaced? The apex of my shoulder to the fullest part of my bust is 9.5 inches. Measure yours to see: if your’s is less than you shouldn’t have an issue with that part of the strap; if your’s is the same or more, be warned. I had considered altering this to make it more comfortable, but I didn’t want to mess with the overall integrity of the bra, so I just deal with it. Maybe they are using specs for more petite women when they decided where to place this support. Also, I wish the larger sizes came in the pretty colors. Overall the best I have found.Pros: no bounce even for larger busts, good fit, lasts a long timeCons: uncomfortable for more than an hour, lack of pretty colors

I have two of these bras! It is the only brand that actually fits me. I’ve tried Panache and Freya, but for some reason, the underwire sports bras just don’t fit me. Shock Absorber is one of the only sports bra makers that have small size bands save for a few like the ones I mentioned above. My issue is that I have a lot of tissue on my sides and most bras to not have a high enough side panel to contain all the tissue. The under arms are cut great for me. They aren’t oversized for the cup and band size, but they aren’t under sized either. The straps don’t cut into my shoulders and under arms like some bras do.These bras are cut small! I ordered a 30E, but am normally a 28FF! The bands are cut so small, so I would order a size to two sizes up depending on how snug you like your band to fit. I like it snug so I just ordered one band size up. The bra that I have worn in has stretched like normal and I’m still on the loosest clasp. The cups are less than a half size too small for me, (I have some very, very slight spillage) but I’m okay with it. If I went with a 30F it would probably be slightly too big. The band seems to fit a little lower on my chest then other bras. The band is not right in my inframammary fold, it is about 1.5 inches lower since there is no underwire. It works for me. It takes some getting used to though. The ONLY issue I have is that the straps are just not all that adjustable. If there was not a second clasp I could not wear this bra simply because the straps would be too loose. I have a very small shoulder size, so I have a hard time fitting into bras that are not fully adjustable. Luckily the second clasps are there to tighten the straps even more.I wear these things at work, especially when I’m on the ATV. Bouncing is greatly minimized, almost zero! I wear these things under t-shirts. I wear them pretty much in place of an underwire bra now. The bra shapes really well for me. I guess some people would complain about the uniboob thing, but I don’t particularly mind. The seams are visible under thin shirts, but again, I don’t mind.TL;DR:The bra does what its supposed to do: stop bouncing. It is comfortable. They are cut small though so order a size or two up. I’m buying more soon!

One Star

Definitely not meant for large boobs. Half my chest hung out of the sides.

Best sports bra for big breasts!

These bras are the only ones that I will trust to offer enough support to run. It holds the girls in place, and doesn’t ride up, or move out of place.
