Only Problem is the Metal Protector

I came across Silicon Power flash drives back in 2016. For the price I paid for them, I have an 8GB for work, two 64GB, and a 128GB, I was extremely pleased with how well they worked. They don’t have a whole lot of extra bulk to them and the metal swivel protector does it’s job but it is also the only problem I have had with it.The swivel point is a notch in the housing with a metal pin just sitting there for the swivel to move on. The pin also has stopping points for the metal protector, over the usb, over the housing, and to the sides. I found this out when the metal protector came off one of mine. If you loose the metal pin the protector will not stop at those points. To remedy this, I simply super glued the pins in place and then put the protector back on.Over all, this is a great product and I plan on purchasing more in the future.

Incredibly Slow

Very slow–not USB3.0 speeds, gets VERY hot, super cheaply built–incredibly cheap plastic shell, and honestly I was expecting it to die pretty quick after using it for a week so I gave it away…not risking my data with this.

My favorite flash drives

I work with software for a living, I am plugging my drive into different computers a dozen times a day. I’ve never had any issues with the 3 I own. They have been super reliable. They are also one of the only drives I can find where the swivel clicks into place

Write Speed Abysmal

Slow drive on writes - see attached picture from CrystalDiskMark. 4k with 32 queue depth/4 threads is .012 MB/s yes POINT ZERO ONE TWO.

The speed is not even close to USB 3.0. Took 20 minutes to copied 1 gigabyte of data. i wouldn’t recommend this product to a anyone. Stay clear of this product.
