Great alternative to the expensive leather ones

I bought three of these for infield drills for our team. We’re on season 4 and all 3 have survived. I have to be mindful where I put them as they are foam and if left in a position (IE under something with shape) it will form to that and will take awhile to flatten itself back out. Other than that they are great for teaching kids to use 2 hands when receiving a ball for quicker delivery. If you’re not sold on these cheap ones (though they work perfectly for their application), check out the leather versions of the trainer.

Great concept, poorly executed

I bought several of these for my 10U travel softball team and they started falling apart as soon as the players put them on. There are two foam sheets glued together but the glue does not hold! The two sheets delaminate and make the glove useless. We taped them together with trainer’s tape out of our medical kit to get through practice.I’ve bought quite a few SKLZ-brand training aides and I’ve always been happy with the products but these flat gloves didn’t live up to my expectations. Pure junk!

Good, Not Great

Good training tool. The foam is a little thinner than expected so you need to use wiffle balls. Needs to be a lot thicker to use with baseballs. I recommend getting one of the leather versions instead if you are looking to do infield and/or catcher drills with a real ball. This is perfect for younger kids to learn to catch (receive ball).

This is great for teaching a player to use two hands when catching a ball. Highly recommend for coaches and players. I use it for fastpitch and it works well.

A must have for coaches

Great training and from t-ball up though adults. Gets them working proper mechanics while fielding a ground ball.

Good tool for keeping throwing hand involved when fielding ground balls.

My son plays a lot of middle infield. I had trouble getting my son to use two hand fielding ground balls. This makes him focus on keeping the throwing hand near his glove. It also makes him keep his head and hands down until the ball is secured between this trainer and his throwing hand. While I do not hit game speed ground balls to him with this yet, using it for drills has been effective for improving his form and fielding mechanics. This also is a good tool for practicing shovel passes on double plays.

Run from this product now!!! Bad bad bad!!!!

This is the WORST SkLZ product ever made!! After 10m of use with a practice ball (tennis ball) the two main pieces of foam board came apart. 10 Minutes!! I will be making my own using the remaining trash parts from this thing.

Great for training

Great basic alternative to the leather flat glove! Works great for grounders and helps in the “using two hands” to catch. If you want something basic, no frills and works with either hand, you have found it!

Great training tool

Great training tool. The negative review is because I used it twice and it’s falling apart already. The padding is separating.

Do not recommend.

Same issue as other negative reviews. The two pieces of foam (black front and gray backing) are not bonded well and started to detach from one another the first time we used it.

Not enough glue

It arrived unglued i guess because of the heat, i had to get my hot glue gun and glue it to fix it, but it’s working as expected now.

I have a few skillz products and they have been great this one does not hold up to my standards …

This product did not last 5 mins out of the package. Son put it on his hand and the hard plastic was already separating from the foam.

Don’t buy

Horrible product put the money toward a good leather one

Five Stars

Great - grandson loves it.

Seem solid. one came with the front pad peeling off. Not a big deal, threw some weights on top of a book on top of the glove and left it for a couple of days.

The 2 pieces will separate very easily after little use

I purchased this from another retailer. My 9 year old son was trying it out in our living room, and it began to come apart. It’s made of 2 pieces of foam glued together.

Two Stars

First practice with this product and the two form pieces separated after fielding about 10 balls.
