Useful Tool For 3D Printing

It’s exactly as advertised. I could have bought it cheaper from a Chinese supplier and waited a few weeks, but this seller offered prime and was worth a few extra dollars. I use it on 3D printed models made of PLA and ABS plastic and it works like a dream.

Great for hobbies

Very cool little tool. This is the first one I’ve ever owned, so I can’t compare it to anything really, but it’s great for my little hobbies and has a nice weight to it. Storing it is kind of a pain, as the drill bits are super tiny…a case or something would have been nice, but would have just driven up the price. I just store the whole set in an 8 oz. Mason jar at my craft table within reach when working on miniature wood pieces or polymer clay projects.

Drill works great, bits easy to break

I bought this for use in putting holes in small wooden and plastic pieces for jewelry-making purposes. It takes forever to get through a cm of plastic but works like a charm on wood and thin sheets of plastic. Only major problem I ran into is the bits broke easily, and it only comes with one bit of each size. After drilling only ~20 pieces I managed to break two of the >1.0mm bits, but they were cheap, so I guess I should have expected that. Anyway, otherwise, very happy with this little tool, and I expect I’ll be even more so when I get some stronger bits.

A major upgrade for a minor cost, great choice!

For the same amount I spent on a drill like this in a craft store that only had 3 bits and lacked a swivel on the end, this drill is a major improvement. It’s built very solidly, the pin vise mechanism works smoothly and well, and even with my arthritic and somewhat small hands it’s easy and comfortable to use. I’ve put off creating a lot of jewelry designs because of the amount of drilling they would require, but now I’m diving into those and creating more! Truly a pleasure. The one tiny quibble I have is that my bits arrived in a small plastic bag, whereas another buyer’s photo showed a really convenient hard plastic tube for storage - it was my impression that that was how it came packaged so I was disappointed not to get that, but it is possible the buyer had added that themself.

Nice pin vice, but…:

The pin vice itself seems to be very well made, but the bits that come with it leave a bit to be desired. The geometry of the tips of the bits is good on a few, lacking on some and non-existent on others. Might want to look at some decent bits.

Good product for the money

I’d be prepared to admit that the bits probably aren’t the finest available, but frankly, for what you can drill with a pin vice by hand (plastic) they worked very well. I think this was a real value for the money.

These are very precise(as the title suggestions). Them being hand turned makes it easier to control what you’re doing so you don’t make mistakes. Great product.

It works great for my needs

Hand drill

If you have a small job to do this is a nice little hand drill. I don’t like the drill bits but I bought this for the hand drill. It is well made and not cheap looking.

Great vise, terrible bits.

The actual pin vise is great. The bits, however, are another story. 4 of the bits have flattened ends making then useless for drilling a hole and 2 of the bits came broken.

Great for those small jobs while designing RC airplances and other models.

Works as intended, can be a little fidgety at times getting the jaws closed - but what do you expect at this price ;)I use this thing nearly daily when building RC airplanes…

Next time, I would buy a more expensive one.

The drill bits were not sharp and extremely prone to breakage. The chuck jaws on the pin vise did not match up exactly and take some wiggling to make them line up just right.
