I don’t understand the mixed reviews at all. I bought mine new from Walmart, it’s a great 2.1 soundbar miles above TV audio. I keep mine on the surround setting, sub up and it’s awesome. The optical port is what I use. Straight to TV and all my devices come through it. It has some nice thump. The optical cable was aittle thin and short but works great. If you need a longer one I’d say get one.Set up was fool proof, no worries about batteries and sub linked up for me out of the box without any input from me. This one might not bounce you off the floor and blow you back but it is an amazing 2.1 system for me. Bluetooth worked from my phone too.If you’re looking for a noticeable upgrade from you’re puny TV speakers this mid range 2.1 soundbar will be great. These reviews really confuse me. I’m glad I didn’t bother researching because I would’ve been put off by the 3.8 score.
No this is not a home theater system but if you have a smaller place and want a product that has good sound this is your product. I purchased for my upstairs tv to give it a little better sound quality and to allow me to play music if I wanted it sounds much better than some of the other systems out there and it cost about half as much!
Wow – I trusted Sony so I figured this purchase was a no-brainer. Couldn’t have been more mistaken. We tried eight ways from Sunday to coax any kind of decent sound out of this thing. The subwoofer is a joke, you have to put your ear right up to it to even tell if it’s working, even with the SW volume cranked all the way up and using the optical cable. Sony, really?Basically, unless you’re going for that nostalgic AM radio transistor sound, it’s best to steer clear.
Great sound easy to set up
It’s super loud and clear sound for me. I put it in my dorm and it could be heard like 1000 ft away with the door closed.
Only had this for 3 months, then it stopped working. Not worth the money and now i cannot return the cheap Sony speaker. DON’T waist your money on this like we did.
Don’t even want to give it this one star rating. Has at times cut in and out since giving as a gift to girlfriend for Christmas and after it being packed for three months doesn’t work at all.
Very good sound quality
Even at full volume it is lower than my TV. I returned this product immediately after installing.
Worked well for 3 weeks (with poor sound quality). One day, it just turned off in the middle of playing and never turned back on.
I bought two of these units for my house and BOTH of them died after two months. Poor craftsmanship. Do not purchase.
Stopped working after 3 months. Junk. Don’t waste your money.
Works great.
Works great
Exceptional sound and easy hookup and use.
The sound quality sucks. Doesn’t get very loud.
I bought this for my daughter and her family. It looked like a nice cheap alternative. Something they could enjoy. I went off the Sony name and just figured it had to be good.
